Giving - Anvesha Rana

"Give without expectations, Give without recognition and Give for the Joy of Giving."

Equality is essential, but it does not last long, for financial differences always produce a barrier. Consequently, those who have enough must give to those who have nothing. When God blesses us financially, we should not raise our standard of living. Instead, we should raise our standard of giving because much is expected from those to whom much is given. Every day we witness acts of generosity, compassion and selflessness by ordinary people. They do not give a second thought to spending money on someone else when they can spend it on themselves. Life's persistent and most urgent question must be, what are you doing for others.

Some of the people who have demonstrated extraordinary generosity include Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Jorge Munoz, P. Kalyansundaram, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Divij. At the age of thirty-one, Bill Gates was the youngest self-made billionaire, and at the age of sixty-four, he found organizations to address causes that were close to his mother. He helped eradicate Polio and supported many people across the globe financially. Bill Gates may be the richest man, but he is also the man who has contributed to charity more than anyone else. Another person who made the world realize the joy of giving was Warren Buffet; he gave away 85 per cent of his wealth to charity, with a colossal amount pledged to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. We need not be rich to be generous, exemplified by Jorge Munoz, an immigrant from Columbia who lives in New York. He is a bus driver by profession but feeds hungry construction workers in the evening. His mission to serve the construction workers each day leaves him no time for friends, hobbies or leisure, yet each day he comes and becomes the reason for the smile on the faces of so many. We all can take inspiration from these people who have taught the world that giving has no barriers.

Once we realize the joy of giving, it will become our true nature to give. Giving is not something that occurs occasionally; it should be habitual and permanent. The fragrance always remains on the hand that gives the rose. Giving is beneficial for the one who receives and is even more advantageous for the giver, for it is in giving that we receive.

Respect - Rishona Chopra

Respect is when you care for someone and have a high opinion about them.

Many say we must have respect for elders, but we should also respect younger ones. Everyone is equal, so everyone should get respect.

Being respectful is essential as when we speak with anger and disappointment, the opponent feels terrible and wouldn’t care to listen to you, and you would feel bad. On the other hand, if we talk with respect, people would easily understand us and feel good.

Apart from respecting others, we must respect ourselves too, which is having self-esteem.

Self-esteem is to love ourselves. When we do something wrong, we shouldn’t be hard on ourselves but respect ourselves like a young child who made a small mistake. Having too much self-esteem is not good, and neither is having no self-esteem.

We should respect others and ourselves too.

Caring - Arindita

Caring means to be kind or concerned about something. For example, helping someone shows you care for the person. Caring is essential as it benefits both you and the person you care for. It is very similar to kindness and respect. It creates happiness and love; it even makes you a better person. Caring doesn't necessarily mean to help someone or do something big, even simple acts of kindness count. There are many ways you can care for something:

You can help someone if they are struggling to do something.

You can also make someone feel better by having good talks with them

You can provide something to someone if they need it.

You can respect them.

And many more ways.

A simple act of kindness can make a huge difference, Care for others.

Happiness - Avika Singhal

Happiness is the feeling of contentment or when life fulfils your needs with a lack of worries. When people are successful, safe or lucky, they feel happy.

To me, happiness is my inner peace and satisfaction. Happiness does not have to be the same for everybody. It may differ from person to person.

I am happy when I am living a moment fully like when I play basketball when I go out for a vacation with my family, when I play with slime when I go out shopping, when I eat my favourite food and when I have money, and I can help the poor. Such things light up my mood, and I put aside all my stress and live in the moment.

Now the things can you pass your happiness to others so that they are happy too! Everyone likes being loved, right? Yes, everyone likes being loved and cared for. So if you follow the following things, then you can pass your happiness.

  • Pass a smile to them when you get a chance
  • Help them in their work
  • Show them love and respect
  • Show that you care
  • Be in a happy mood around them
  • Tell jokes to each other(not offensive ones) laugh with them
  • Share your things and don’t remind them they favour repeatedly
  • Be a good friend and keep secrets so that they can be warm and comfortable around you

Honesty and Respect - Divyanshi Upadhyay

Honesty and Respect are existing in India till ancient times. Honest people are being respected by the public in the past. People were not only honest to each other, but they also respected each other and their ideas. Some examples of honesty are Raja Harishchandra and Yudhishthira (Also called Dharamraja ). Respect matters a lot to the ancient people. They respected their elders as well as youngsters.

With time, the meaning of honesty and respect has been changed very much. Today honesty has the same value for some people. In today's world, where crime is prevailing everywhere globally, some people have respect for honesty. Honesty pays, but one should have patience. Respect is like a give and takes matter. If you give someone respect, you will get the same respect in return.

Self Respect - Jiya Vaishnav

Self-Respect refers to loving oneself and behaving with honour and dignity. It reflects respect for oneself. An individual who has self-respect would treat himself with honour. Furthermore, lacking self-respect is a matter of disgrace. An individual who does not respect himself should certainly not expect respect from others. The person who values his self-respect will respect others. He would never want to hurt anybody with his words or actions. We should treat others the way we want to be treated.

Self-respect develops inner strength and courage to speak for yourself. It also makes us realize how important it is to treat others with respect. It helps us to become more thoughtful in our behaviour.
