Mind Over Matter - Rishona Chopra

Controlling over feelings is quite essential. We often get irritated over the most minor things. Like on the dog barking a lot or on the printer that wasn't working. We all get annoyed at the smallest of things and shout, scream and even start to do physical fighting! But, when you look back and think about that problem, you realise it wasn't worth it.

Scientifically we say - the mind controls us, but spiritually, we say - We control the mind. Controlling the mind is listening to what is correct. Our mind knows what is wrong and right but even knowing that we listen to what our mind says, even if it is wrong.

Mind over matter is simply about controlling your feelings and not letting them get the better of you.

The Fourth Type Of Army - Reveda Bhatt

We’ve all heard about the three forces - Air Force, guarding via sky. Navy, protecting through waters and Army, defending our land.

But did you know there’s a fourth?

Yeah, there is! It’s the COASTGUARD which makes up the fourth force, though you may think that as it is related to waters, it might come under Navy; no, it’s different.

I had no idea until this summer when we visited South India. On the internet, we were going through the places we could visit when my father told us that we’d visit the Indian Coastguard cruise; I, having no damn clue about what Coastguard is, just jumped, excited, hearing the word ‘cruise.’ The day soon arrived, and at noon, we were on the ship with its captain; well, the ship was docked, so it didn’t sail, but being on board a vessel itself is different, so I didn’t mind about the sailing part. The ship was ICGS RANI ABBAKKA, a patrolling ship of the Indian Coastguard.

We entered the ship with its captain, saw all its interior mechanisms, and came to know its functions and how it goes for patrolling all around India’s coastline, we had a conversation with its captain in their meeting room, and that’s when he told and explained to us that they make up the fourth force of our country, though not quite well known. Still, they play an essential role in our security too!

India has a coastline of about 7500 kilometres, which is mainly guarded by them, the ship we went on sets out to check all’s fine and that nobody’s trying to attack our coastline.

So, basically, people, whatever might happen, and whatever we may do, we need four of them to keep us safe, they risk their lives for us, but there’s one thing they demand: your belief in them!

Coffee With The Coach : Emotions - Anvesha Rana

Today We Talk About Emotions

Don't cling to things because everything is impermanent. Learn to detach yourself from emotions. But detachment doesn't mean you don't let the experience penetrate you. On the contrary, you let it penetrate fully. That's how you can leave it.

Take any emotion - Grief for a loved one or pain or fear from a task. If you hold back on these emotions and don't allow yourself to go through them, you can never get to being detached; you're too busy being afraid. You're afraid of the pain; you're afraid of the grief. You're afraid of the vulnerability that loving entails.

But by throwing yourself into these emotions, by allowing yourself to dive in, all the way, over your head even, you experience them fully and completely. You know what pain is. You know what grief is. And only then you can say, 'All right, I have experienced that emotion. I recognize that emotion. Now I need to detach from that emotion for a moment.'

How we feel lonely, sometimes to the point of tears, but we don't let those tears come because we are not supposed to cry. Or how we feel sorry for what we have done, but we don't say anything because we're frozen with the fear of what those words might do to the relationship.

Instead, our approach should be the exact opposite. Turn on the faucet. Wash with the emotion. It won't hurt you. It will only help. If you let the fear inside and pull it on like a familiar shirt, you can say to yourself, "All right, it's just fear; I don't have to let it control me. I see it for what it is."

Same for loneliness: you let go, let the tears flow, feel it completely - but eventually be able to say, "All right, that was my moment with loneliness. I am not afraid of feeling lonely, but now I will put that loneliness aside and know that there are other emotions in the world, and I will experience them as well."

"Shabby Old School" - Rishona Chopra

Embracing your school is quite important. Whatever school you go into must have something special about it. Like Tomoe, it gives you the freedom to choose, and the teachers are pretty understanding. Loving your school and standing up for it is excellent quality.

I love my school! Its teachers are pretty fun and understanding. Gyanshree is a volcano of opportunities, and I am honoured to be in this school. For me, my school is heaven. Whenever I enter it, I feel like this was the best day ever. Going offline from online was a pleasure, meeting my earlier teachers during dispersal and knowing they hadn't forgotten me.

Gyanshree School is a wonderful school,
Inside out, it's a wonderful school!
Gyanshree makes me feel proud,
It makes me confident in a crowd,
Its teachers are great,
It's the best school in the whole state!

Thinking about Gyanshree, I had almost forgotten about the school that helped me find my passion: My Good School!

My Good School is a wonderful school,
Inside out, it's a wonderful school!
I learnt all the values needed,
After going to My Good School, we all succeeded!
There are several things you can do,
Each thing is new!

Being Lost - Reveda Bhatt

Being lost, being different is not at all bad; we, in that state, create a world of our own in the world in which we only own a few of its bits-

Comprehending this, what do you think? Is it better to own a non-existent world or to keep on struggling to hold something in this world where we all are?

It's like sometimes, you're deep, swimming in your thoughts, and most of the time, you know that you are dreaming and trust me, you will not long to wake up from those! Sometimes, having a hell of stress from this world on your mind, closing your eyes, opening the door to your own world and just staying there for a while feels like heaven and gives you wings (inspired by the tagline of Red Bull…lol).

Well, moving ahead with that, sometimes that happens with me too, wait though; I'll reframe it as per the truth-many a time! Remembering when I used to stare blankly at a point, lying in my ICU bed, my father sometimes asked me, "Wait, let me reframe that again, many times," Why are you lost?" Okay, I won't blame him for that, maybe he thinks that it is a side-effect of my "three-year-old diffuse axonal brain injury grade IV," Woah! That is a very complex name (lol again)! So, everyone dreams while sleeping, but why not sometimes dream while awake? You know, but that feeling of being elsewhere while being somewhere, when you're just sitting idle, gives you the kind of calmness you can't find anywhere!

Plus-point, looking at a point when lost in thoughts also increases your confidence level because you just aren't bothered about all happening around you at that moment!

Now, think again, if you previously denied the 'in-your-own-world-existence', isn't it cool?

Okay, so that was a lot of thinking for this one, getting it over with, try it once and fill me in about it!
