Caring - Rishona Chopra

Image
We all must have heard about Caring.  Caring is helping someone, right? Yes, but we can do much more if we have a wide heart. We could heal emotions too. We should always do it with an open mind, dedication, and love when we do something. Similarly, when we care for someone, we should always do it with a kind heart because if we aren’t, then we aren’t caring, and maybe we are hurting them too. Now I’d like to present a story on Caring. Care but to make people strong Once there used to live a boy who was always told the caring is sharing and one must care for others. He wondered why to care for others when we don’t want to? Why don’t we build them strong instead? If we keep helping them with every bit of thing, then they will be weak! This seemed like a silly idea to others, and it might seem to you too, but it’s actually right!! Of course, we must help and care for people, especially friends but if we help them in every small thing things which they are capable of doing we are actually

Be A Dreamer - Prarthana Rastogi

Everyone has the freedom to dream. It is a beautiful and soulful experience. Children of our age have dreams to become someone according to their likings and expect their parents to help them pursue it. Hence, parents should encourage their children to dream and contribute to the process of fulfilling the same. When parents have different expectations from their children, they do not realize they knowingly or unknowingly put their children under pressure. As a result, the child, in fear of disappointing their parents, forget about their dreams and start following what their parents want them to be. However, these people sometimes are not successful because their heart does not follow them, and their mind is not accepting it.  As a child, I also dream of becoming a Sports Star. I love playing sports. I’m passionate about basketball, badminton, and cricket.  If you have the determination and are mentally strong, you’ll surely be successful.  Last but not least, parents should understand

Be A Dreamer- Aanya Kumar

Image
In the reading session held on 26/12/2021 I understood that dreaming leads to success. Successful leaders had the dream to become one. Take the example of Sachin Tendulkar. He was very young when India lifted the world cup in 1983 and since then he had the dream to play for his country and win the world cup again. It took him twenty- eight years to realise his dream.  All great inventions such as mobile phone, DVD, the light bulb and many more could be made because their inventors had the dream to do something revolutionary. Also, all famous monuments including Taj Mahal were constructed because someone dreamt about leaving a mark in the history.  It is okay to dream because if we do then we might modify the future. Beating The Odds - Shambhavi Nautiyal

Image
www.JoyOfLearningDiaries.com My Opinion on the second chapter, 'Beating the Odds' from the Book 'Is your Child Ready to Face the World? by Dr Anupam Sibal' I absolutely agree with the chapter and how it describes our behaviour and self-consoling excuses. This seems quite relatable as I have seen this same thing going all around me while growing up. It still has not stopped, and people still do it. I'm not going to lie; this chapter shall help other students and children become vigilant about how this habit of consoling ourselves of not achieving something for the reason that may not even affect us. Eventually resulting it becomes a hurdle in the path of success. I, too, used to do this often whenever I messed up and regretted my decision, but, in all honesty, I'll now try to not do that and handle the situation while just letting it go and doing my utmost.  This chapter showed aspects of different people's lives (such as Beethoven, Rolls Royce, Steven Spielb

Courage - Ridhima Nalwa

Courage means different things to different people. To some, a soldier is what defines Courage to another. It may be leaser to yet another. It may be a person struggling through a dreaded disease. To me, Courage is what defines my mother. To me, she represents Shakti the Goddess with ten arms. She manages home, her work, me with astounding Courage. Come what may, she is ready to face the challenges of a life fearlessly.  I sometimes wonder if Nelson Mandela’s definition of Courage was written keeping my mother in mind. He said, “Courage is not the absence of fear but to triumph over it”. A brave person is not someone who does not experience fear but the one who conquers fear. I have learnt from my mother that Courage need not be as huge as sacrificing one’s life for the nation; not everyone can be that courageous.  Courage could be as simple as being honest, loyal to one’s friend, standing up for the truth and fearlessly facing day to day challenges that life imposes on us. Courage - Somnath

Courage is one of the best qualities of a human being. Courage means to go against your fears and do something. This courage of Indian soldiers in the Siachen borders motivates them to protect our country in such extreme conditions. My uncle is hydrophobic, and he doesn’t even go near a pool. One summer evening, we were driving along the banks of river Hooghly in Kolkata. It was a hot and wet summer evening. My father parked the car near the banks to enjoy the cool breeze. All of a sudden, we could hear a strange noise. It seemed that someone was wailing. We saw a tiny brown puppy stuck in the mud near the river when we went near. The mother dog tried to rescue it but couldn’t, wailing helplessly. We did not know what to do. To all or surprise, my uncle jumped in the muddy river and rescued the little pup and brought it back to its mother. We were all astonished. A person with fear for water had actually shown the courage and had gone against his fears to save the little pup. Courage g

Courage - Samruddhi Patankar

I am Samruddhi Patankar from grade 2; I would like to share my short life stories of courage. I needed courage when I was only 5 yrs old to speak on the stage but, then my parents gave me courage by encouraging me, I did it. 👧🏻 When I was going to school 🏫 for my meet-and-greet session, I needed courage because I would meet my teacher that time; I got it from myself. I often got scared by something that I didn’t even know, but I always told my teacher. She always gave me the courage, from now I see something scarier I don’t get scared. From then I have realized what courage means. Name: Samruddhi Patankar Grade: 2A Billabong High International School, Thane

Making Mistakes and Accepting Flaws - Chahna Gandhi

It's unusual how 'mistakes' can turn you into something better than you were before. Let's learn from the Great J.K Rowling, one of the best writers in the modern world. She is one of my favourites. Thanks to her that we have Harry Potter today. Rowling had published a series of classic novels. But not many are aware that before gaining fame, she was nearly penniless, depressed and trying to raise a child independently. While attending school and trying to make a decent earning, through her continuous determination and the fantastic idea of writing a book, she has become one of the richest women within a term of 5 years.  You might have not understood what I mean and trying to convey. Here's my point of view about the story :  Joanne is an inspiring woman, and she inspired me to express my thoughts through writing as I am doing right now. Today she stimulated me that there's no wrong with making mistakes. Instead, she influenced me to see the positive of the err

Handling Pressure - Savyata Rijal

Image
The world has come where 5-year-old children complain about pressure.  Pressure comes from others that's external, and at times we pressurize ourselves that's internal- self-created. Many children are the victims of such force in today's rat race. Also, in this race of excelling, parents are the ones who give children that pressure most of the time. They want their children to be the best at everything, but nothing can be done perfectly. Their children try to keep up with their parent's expectations, and in this process, they are super stressed and feel the pressure.  Parents should not compare their children with others; instead, they should ask their children if they are under pressure and try to reduce it and counsel them. Moreover, parents aren't the only ones responsible, it's their own friends too. There's peer pressure to do stuff like weight loss, looks, class performance, etc.  To conclude, I would like to say that parents have a significant rol

Courage - Khushi Badgeri

Courage allows you to attempt things that you have not tried before.  It takes courage to admit and say sorry when you are wrong. Courage is mental or moral strength to withstand danger, fear or difficulty.  In short, courage means to say I have to do it, I will do it.  Courage makes us believe in ourselves. Let me share my experience. I had a toothache. It was paining so severely that I could not eat or drink anything. But I was afraid of visiting Dentist.  My parents forced me to see the Dentist. I went to Doctor and saw the Dental Chair, and I ran out and started crying. Then my parents told me that there was nothing to worry about and not hurt me. I told myself nothing to worry about and everything would be fine. You are brave and strong. You can do it. Somehow I managed to build up mental courage and got my dental treatment done,  Now, I am not afraid of any Doctor and their treatment. I know they will take good care of me. So, this is how I overcame my fear of visiting a Dentis

Be a Dreamer - Rishona Chopra

Image
Based on the chapter Be a dreamer by Dr Anupam Sibal from Is Your Child Ready to face the world. Having dreams is something we all must-have. I don't mean dreams that you get while sleeping; I am  talking about ambitions that we must have. We have come to Earth to play our part to be something that can help Earth and others' lives.  Take the example of Abraham Lincon - Abraham Lincon had a dream to put an end to slavery. He had that dream which many of us thought impossible, but Lincon made it possible. Even though he had to face many problems, he didn't give up on his dream and look what he did, he banned slavery in most places!! So that was something he did. He played his part. Of Course, it is essential to have a dream, but we must work hard for a dream to come true. Rishona Chopra Grade V Gyanshree School

Making Mistakes, Accepting Flaws - Arav Agarwal

Image
Based on the chapter Making Mistakes, Accepting Flaws, from the book is your child ready to face the world by Dr Anupam Sibal. We are humans, we tend to make mistakes, and we should accept the mistakes. We should reflect and learn from our mistakes and not repeat the same mistakes. Let’s take the example of Thomas Edison. When he invented the light bulb, he failed 999 times! Then in an interview, he was asked how was it like to fail 999 times. He said, “I did not fail 999 times but only found 999 ways of how not to invent the light bulb.” Every time he made a mistake, he learned from it and improved. Imagine if he had given up and not learned from his mistakes, our life would be without light. We should not expect everyone to be flawless in everything. There is a beautiful story in this book called the two pots. It teaches us that we should see goodness in our flaws. We should accept it, and mistakes are a part of our growth in our life.   Name: Arav Agarwal Grade: 5C Billabong H

Courage - Aavansh Gupta

Courage is to control fear in a situation that may be dangerous or unpleasant. You can swim in oceans, climb up mountains or go to space. But the main point is that not everybody dares to do that. Everybody wants comfort. You can choose courage or comfort, but you can’t choose both.  So, let me share a self-composed poem that could inspire everyone reading. THIS IS COURAGE YOU CAN USE IT AT ANY AGE WHETHER YOU ARE A SIMPLE MAN OR A SAGE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS COURAGE IF YOU ARE A CHILD NOT EVEN TEN AND SEE YOUR FRIEND GOING INTO A DANGEROUS-LOOKING DEN DO NOT RUN AWAY AND QUICKLY GO AND SAY YOU ARE GOING THE WRONG WAY NOW COME WITH ME AND PLAY IT WILL SAVE THE BOY FROM GETTING EATEN BY A LEONINE IF HE JUST SAYS THANK YOU THAT IS ALSO FINE YOU HELPED THE BOY HE WILL RETURN THE FAVOUR TO YOU AT ANY AGE YOU HELPED THE BOY FEARLESSLY THIS IS CALLED COURAGE Aavansh Gupta Grade IV Gyanshree School

Then we showed the courage to rescue the turtle. We also took the kitten gave it something to eat. This is how I showed courage to find out the sound and rescue the turtle and feed the kitten. Courage means to face and overcome your fears. Being courageous doesn't mean having no worries but means overcoming them. People may have concerns like Acrophobia, Arachnophobia etc., but a brave person will fight it and go on. Being courageous will help build your confidence because you won't be afraid of scary things and will prevent nervousness. It will also help you push away obstacles coming into your way and keep yourself calm to find your way out of certain situations and face them. Courageous people are respected by all. One of the best examples is the Defense forces like army, navy, air force etc. They work for our defence no matter how fearful and dangerous the situation is. They never let their fears get to them, and that's why they leave a mark in other people's life. So, be courageous, be fearless, and you will indeed find success. Arindita Grade V Gyanshree School

Courage - Aashay Gaitonde

It was the year 2019. I had gone on a holiday with my family to Pali, where we stayed at a weekend home. On a lazy Sunday morning, Dad & I were playing in the kids' pool. I don't know how to swim, but I always liked playing in the water. It's always great fun to splash onto the water and create waves with our hands. However, who knew, that such a fun morning could end with a horror story. While playing in the pool, I slipped and fell face-first into the water. My head was UNDERWATER! I couldn't breathe and panicked. I couldn't move. It's only because my dad pulled me up that I could breathe again, albeit with great difficulty (because of the water in my nose!) Fast forward to 2021, my parents planned the same trip this weekend & to the same place. And guess what? My mom & dad said to me this morning, "We are going to play in the pool." And this time, it was going to be the regular swimming pool and not the kids' pool. I was petrified!

Courage is when you do something that you are scared of. It is the ability to control fear in a dangerous situation. If we do not have courage, we will not do some things that we fear a little or a lot today. It also builds our self-confidence. Now, I'd like to share a poem on courage- I want everyone to have courage, That is something I’d like to encourage, If you help an animal, even if it puts you in a little bit of danger, It’ll be happy to receive help from a stranger, You need bravery, To let go of wavery, So be brave everyone, And you will soon be confident enough to do what you fear a ton! Happiness - Rishona Chopra

Happiness, as we all know, is a feeling where we feel pleasant, jolly and satisfied, but where do we get happiness. All of us want happiness in our lives, but there are so many bad things happening in the world; how on earth can we be happy? Here's the answer, we don't get happiness from things and situations. Even the worst thing in the world can have a positive side!! So if we take a look at each case from a  positive angle, we can easily be happy. To understand it better, let me tell you a story- Happiness is everything Once there lived a young boy named Jack. People said that his luck was never on his side, and he was also known as the unlucky boy.  Once in his exam, he broke his pencil, and it took him 10 minutes to sharpen it! The other day in the park, he fell several times and from that day till the next few weeks, he was not able to play. Such minor unlucky instances made Jack very sad. It was like his happiness was lost. That night Jack wanted to cry all his pain out,

“Courage is grace under pressure”. All of us, no matter how young, have done something courageous. It would be doing something for the sometimes or being calm under pressure. Here is my tale of being courageous. ‘Once, I was going to the park with my sister. I was going inside the lift. And after a few moments, the lights went out. The lift suddenly stopped, and it was going to the basement. I was surprisingly calm and collected and knew what to do. My sister, however, was panicking. As I tried to calm her down, the lift had arrived at the basement. I pressed the “call” button, and one of the guards on the ground floor told us to calm down. After 5 mins the lights came on. Finally, I went to the park.’ See? It isn’t a challenging job. Courage isn’t having no fears but withstanding them instead. You need it to begin. It gives you the ability to not be embarrassed or shy and take the first steps to try something. It is one of the mo

Making Mistakes, Accepting Flaws- Aanya Kumar

In the reading session on 19/12/2021, I understood that we humans tend to make mistakes. We are often told that making mistakes is wrong. But mistakes aren’t crimes. It was new learning to me that Thomas Alva Edison failed 999 times while spreading light across the world or inventing the light bulb. A journalist asked him how it felt to fail a bundle of times when he was finally successful. He replied that he had not been failing all that time, but he learned 999 ways by which a light bulb could not be made. So, it is okay to make mistakes but not to repeat them.  I have made many mistakes, but my parents have always encouraged me to learn from them. I know that I will continue to make mistakes, but that will give me the wisdom to be a better individual. As the saying goes, “Learn from your mistakes”. Belief - Rishona Chopra

Image
In our present world, we believe several beliefs but, to be honest, one of them, which is the most popular one, is not valid. This is the belief of religion. We think going to places like Amarnath makes us pious, but that's not true. Being religious is mainly about following that path of God and respecting one's religion, right?  So let me tell you that this is not what God wants. We think that going to temples and depositing money will give us blessings from God but it really doesn't.  What God wants us to do is just to know who we are. A peaceful and powerful soul. The child of God. He never wanted us to pray to him or pray to his statues and photos. He simply wants us to know who we are, which, like I said, we are powerful and peaceful souls. We are the children of God, so once we know that, we just treat God like our very own parent, and that's what he wants. That is what will give us inner peace. So why not focus on reality rather than believing these beliefs bec

Handling pressure - Rishona Chopra

Based on the chapter handling pressure, from Is Your Child Ready to face the world by Dr Anupam Sibal. Often we are under pressure, where we feel we are not enough, but that is, of course, not true. We must know that we are what we believe, and that is why we should believe in ourselves.  Take the example of Dr Ben Carson- Dr Ben Carson is a neurosurgeon and a master at handling pressure. We all agree that the stress of saving a life is the highest. Dr Carson is an expert at separating twins, a difficult challenge. Along with that, he also is a genius at controlling anger. Even if his team doesn’t cooperate, he hardly loses his temper. Handling pressure is difficult, but we must have faith and belief in ourselves, and that is the key. Courage - Avni Karmarkar

What does the word courage exactly mean? It means the ability to do   something that frightens something or someone. I am Avni Karmarkar going to tell you a story of a woman named “Virginia Hall.” Once upon a time, there was a woman with a wooden leg. Her name was Virginia, and she called her leg Cuthbert. Though she walked with a limp, Virginia was amazingly determined. When the second world war broke out, she joined the British Special Forces and set off across the English Channel to help the France Resistance fight the Nazis. Virginia was a master of disguise. One time, she pretended to be an elderly milkmaid. She dyed her hair grey, put on a long skirt, and shuffled along so that nobody could see she had a limp. She sent out secret radio messages telling the Allies about German troop movements. It was hazardous, and Virginia knew that she would be tortured and killed if she were discovered. But she carried on regardless. As she was known, the limping lady was considered the most

If you look at the world now compared to the past, you might find the present life easier, but you will also notice that the world's culture and spirituality are lost.  There was a lot of respect for culture and religion in the past. Everyone looked forward to religious festivals and ceremonies, but most of us hardly care about culture and faith in the present world. Most of us have forgotten that we have a family to spend time with. We look up to social media to communicate and share things. Most of us have forgotten that social media is just an app. We  have our family and friends, some real people that actually understand our feelings.  Apart from that, there is also a lot of unemployment in the world. People are greedy for money, even businessmen! Despite having more than enough, they still want more! People with greed pay less to  their employees and don't control their spending.  Now, it's your choice. What would you like - a spiritual and happy world or a lost and gr

Based on the chapter It’s never too late, from Is Your Child Ready to face the world by Dr Anupam Sibal Sometimes when we have fear or are in a situation where we have options, one risky and the other an easy one. Here we have to display courage. Courage is being fearless, showing an end to fear and bringing in bravery. Of course, it is difficult, but that is what life is about. Taking risks and having new experiences. Take the example of Dr Christiaan Barnard- a cardiac surgeon Dr Christiaan Barnard was an ambitious cardiac surgeon who started performing and studying cardiac surgeries. He started performing heart and lung transplants. He had a few cases where he could just make joy with his first successful surgery or put everything at stake. Here he took the risk and performed a successful surgery! So to have courage, you just need to believe in yourself. Rishona Chopra Grade V  Gyanshree School

Courage means the ability to control fear. Another word for courage is being brave. It is a good value, and it is essential for us. We should not be afraid of fear. So it is essential to inculcate courage in ourselves. I would like to share an example of a woman. Women face many problems, they solve all of the issues because of courage. If we are afraid of difficulties, we will never solve those problems. Courage also builds our self-confidence.  I would also like to share one more example of our freedom fighters. Today, we all remember our freedom fighters because of their quality of courage. Only because of their courage and bravery, our country becomes free from British rule. So let's be brave and stand for the right cause. Hetal Vaishnav  Class VIII A The Fabindia School

Cooperation - Dakshita Sirvi

Cooperation is the special bond between two or more persons to maintain creativity in their work. It means working together to achieve a common goal. Cooperation and competition both play an important role in our life. Competition forces us to improve our services and products hence benefiting us. But cooperation makes us work together and faster, it increases our patience and makes us compatible with our partners. We all know that one plus one is two hence greater than one this means working in a group makes your work greater and complete it faster. Eg. If I have to find a book in a library alone it would take me a long time but if I along with my friends find it together then it would be found in less time. However, in comparison cooperation is more effective than competition. It benefits not only a single person but the whole society. So everyone should be taught to co-operate not to compete. Cooperation - Arav Agarwal

Hello everyone! We all know how cooperation is important in our everyday life and how it helps us to achieve our goals. Today I am going to share about amazing cooperation between our mind and our body. The mind and body are not separate. What affects the one, affects the other. We all know that two or more people cooperate with each other to perform a particular task. In a similar way, our mind and body also cooperate and work together to perform a task. Our mind thinks of a way in which the task should be performed and our body executes the task. For example, when we are solving a mathematics problem our mind quickly thinks of the solution or the way to solve the sum and our body(hands) start writing the solution. Our mind and body are able to cooperate with each other so well as they listen to each other. In a similar way, we should also listen to other people so that we are able to cooperate well. It is very necessary for our mind and body to cooperate with each other because w

Have you ever lost someone whom you had loved the most in your life? I have. The one whom I loved the most in my life, the one with whom I shared everything. No one is not afraid of anything in the world. What do you need to overcome these fears? All you have to do is to show courage. For me, courage is being fearless, confident, and daring to do anything. Because in life, there are many situations where you are broken, and no one is there for you. You have to show courage; you have to stay strong. You have to forget all the memories you have spent with that person and move on. You have to overcome this fear of losing your loved ones. Because no one is immortal, everyone has to leave this life one day. You have to become capable to give others the support you needed at that time. Always try to overcome these fears and show courage. Dakshita Sirvi Class IX B The Fabindia School  (Graphic by Yukti Sirvi of Class VIII A)
