"Being well' comes before 'well being' - Nishan Karki

“He who has health has hope and he who has hope has everything.”      – Arabian Proverb

Being well indeed comes before our well-being. Being well means being healthy and happy. Health is definitely wealth, which we all have to look towards. Being healthy means not only the absence of disease or sickness, but also how peaceful you are from within, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and, of course, physically.

Maintaining a fit body, eating right, and going to the gym are not the only things that people must work towards to achieve a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle is one in which there is a balance between everything we do. The components of a healthy lifestyle include eating right, sleeping enough, keeping ourselves clean, meditating, thinking right, exercising, listening to good music, talking right, performing and engaging in healthy activities, exhibiting good manners and behavior, having a healthy circle of friends, family, and society, and a lot more.

Our "well-being" can be decided and promoted effectively if we are healthy, well, and sound-minded. Health greatly affects people's daily lives. If we are healthy, we will be able to carry out and discharge our duties, work, and responsibilities effectively. If we are not healthy or are suffering from illness and other problems, we will not be able to carry out and discharge our duties and responsibilities effectively and efficiently.

Somebody has rightly said, "A healthy mind lives in a healthy body."This saying is indeed very true. Our mind works effectively and efficiently when we are healthy, and vice versa.

Our health determines our relationship with others, our performance in any case, our efficiency, our effectiveness, our daily lives, etc. Being healthy or well is an important step on the road to achieving well-being for ourselves, our family, our friends, and eventually society. If people are healthy and sound-minded,  society will become peaceful.

Thus, by drawing up all the points, people should do the following things to be healthy:
■ Exercising, going to the gym, etc.
■ Eating healthy, nutritional, and right food.
■ Meditating.
■ saying, listening, and communicating the right things.
■ Keeping yourself aware of the problems you are facing and solving them at the right time.
■ Taking good care of your mental and physical health.
■ Engaging in right and healthy activities.

And so on...

Jai Hind - Tenzin Jambey

When I hear the word Jai Hind, my heart fills with pride and happiness. If we look at India, we will find that we are very far away from where our country started. Our India is developing day by day, but there are still many problems that arise in people's daily lives. Sometimes I really feel sad after seeing poverty, health issues, bad roads, corrupt ministers, and many other things.

How shocking it is that for the NEET examination, more than 17 lakh people appear, and the selection chances are only 7%. How shocking it is that more than 10 lakh students appear for the UPSC, out of which only 180 IAS are selected. How sad it is to hear that only 25000 students get selected for IIT, in which almost 11 lakh students compete.

We will find that in our country, we have many bright students who are willing to become doctors, engineers, and civil servants. Still, our country fails to have a good doctor and medical service in rural areas, and we fail to have a good government, although we have IAS officers. We fail to have proper roads and walking paths across our country, although we have so many engineers.

The harsh reality is that the people who have enough wealth and a proper position are serving each other. Even though millions of people in India are millionaires, problems like poverty exist.

We need to ask ourselves where we are going wrong. There must be a hole that needs to be filled in order to make our HINDUSTHAN better.

At last, we people need to support each other by forgetting all the differences we Indians have. How shameful it is that some people do not know where Arunachal Pradesh is located. Some say that it is located in northern India, and some say that it's in the south. Some people call the northeastern people Chinese. I wonder how having small eyes makes you Chinese, if it is so that people who have dark skin must be African and those who have fair skin must be Russian.

This all just does not make any sense. Why do we have to call each other by names because of their appearance? Aren't they humans?

Let's make our HINDUSTHAN stronger by holding the hands of each other, and the day when people of India will stay in unity with each other, that day I will climb up on a mountain and say "JAI HIND” with the national flag wrapping me.

THE ANTIDOTE ЁЯТК - Tenzin Nyingsel

Whatever we do in our lives costs one or more of the other important things we possess. There is always a hidden cost, whether it's the capital or the time. Our possessions should always be spent on the right things; we will only start putting our hearts into them. Later, we get the passion for it, and we never know how that becomes a career in our very lives.

If we keep these essential points in mind whenever we choose to do something, we shall never need an antidote to continue what we are doing or about to do.

"A samosa doesn't cost £15, it costs your health.
YouTube doesn't cost £300-£400; it costs your health.
Social media isn't free; it costs your focus."

As a result, remember that "There is always a hidden cost."

The Second Half Of Life - Shubhangi Kashyap

Some purpose in life gives us fulfilment and joy, and that can bring us the experience of happiness.....

IN 1940, during a time referred to as Britain's darkest hour...
KEEP YOUR MOMENTUM GOING!!

Let's start with just one single step to keep our momentum going. In his bestselling book Dare to be 100, Walter Bortz, a doctor and respected authority on successful...

George Burns was one of the few entertainers whose career successfully spanned the generation of vaudeville radio, television, film, standup comedy, records, books and movies... Burns perhaps delivered his finest screen performance in the bittersweet comedy Going in Style 1979).....

Great things never come from comfort zones - Animesh Kashyap

To achieve great things, you must go beyond your comfort zone. You won’t get anywhere by doing what you are used to. You need to go beyond what you think you can do to reach your full potential. Nobody ever did something extraordinary by wishing for it or staying in their comfort zone. Nobody is coming to work for you; you have to do it on your own. Success lies beyond what we are comfortable with. We achieve our goals by stretching our capabilities and skills in ways we have never imagined. You will never see progress when you choose to remain in your comfort zone. You need to go beyond what you know to achieve success and improve. Progress only happens when we try something different.

Reflections Sunbeam School & Hostel Lahartara

Sunday School 10th December 2023

"The purpose of life is to live it, to take the experience to the end."

Without a purpose, our lives feel meaningless. Finding our purpose takes time and requires a lot of wondering. Everything that might seem like mindless investing until you find your passion.

"Retirement," ending all work for a certain period, is a relatively new concept. We may retire from a career or a job, but we should never retire from meaningful contributions. Life means more when we respond to work that is meaningful to us and to others. The older we become, the more we have shaped the environment for our usage. Looking back, you will discover that many great men and women in history never cut back simply because of their age. Success would be a natural outcome when we pursue excellence and feel far more fulfilled in every endeavour.

-Anmol Kashyap VIII B

"Professional learning is not a function of age; it's a function of attitude".
My perspective from the Sunday School is that people who adopt the attitude that they can learn to show heightened levels of brain activity compared to those who believe their mental acuity is fixed. A room without a book is like a book without a soul.

Passion & Longevity
The fire of the soul should always stay strong to maintain longevity. It is essential for us. A famous person once said, "Retirement is a curse for humankind." Retirement lowers your critical thinking skills if a person can do something he must. Every person has something special inside them. Even if the person is retired, he should start doing something different. For something, we just have to resurrect it. As Oscar Wild quotes, "Be yourself, everyone else. Is already taken.".

Shaurya Chaturvedi  VIII B

To sustain longevity, we have to evolve into something constructive. We should enrich our souls with the music of life by reaching and touching people on a human level. Age is only a number; we can go on and on beyond 80 years.

Lalita Agarwal (VIII-B)

1. "To me, retirement is death! I have no idea why people retire." The beautiful meaning of this quote is that when people retire, they think that their work of this life is done. Still, they need to know that if they retire from a particular post or any job, they need to engage themselves in some new work; otherwise, if they stay at home, it may be hazardous for them and cause various diseases.

2. "If I had two loaves of bread, I would sell one and buy hyacinths to feed my soul to contribute to our well-being & happiness." This beautiful quote was written by our Former Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. By this quote, she was trying to make us feel the value of hyacinths. She was trying to tell us that if she had two pieces of anything to eat, she would eat one, sell one, and buy hyacinths as she felt that its beautiful smell and incredible beauty would be enough to feed our souls.

3. Well-being can control being well.

4. "Be true to yourself and make each day your masterpiece! Help others. Build a shatter against a rainy day. Pray for guidance, and thank you for being blessed every day.
