Making others Happy - Shirin Kaw

Shirin Kaw, 8E, Ahlcon Public School

I am very passionate about writing stories and poems of what I imagine. Writing various stories and poems helps me express my thoughts on a piece of paper. It gives me a sense of calmness to my body and allows me to spend my free time productively. I also read many stories; I mainly enjoy fictional stories as I love imagination and creativity.

Making Others Happy -
Feeling good after doing a good deed,
Making one smile, the beatitude I perceive
Sunshine thrives over all the obstacles I face

A second doesn't go by without thinking that face.
It must have been a rough day, dealing with the strain
A soul comes and hugs you,
Makes your day an enchanting bouquet.

Take a minute of your life,
There is something to redo,
Make someone blush, and don't forget yourself too.

Never Giving Up Hope - Yashraj Sharma

“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope”. - Martin Luther King Jr.

Hope. What is hope? How should we not lose hope? Why are we told to never give up hope?

The answer is simple: hope is a feeling or a presence of mind in which you are still firm in doing a task despite constant failures. If we have hope, the sense of continuous determination stays alive.

For example- If, unfortunately, a person gets infected by an illness, they should not lose hope because, as per psychological research, when a patient is given medicine, if they have a gloomy and negative mindset, the therapy is less likely to be effective than it is supposed to.

Hope keeps us optimistic and gives us the willpower to do our best even in hard times, and also, if we are full of hope, it helps us remain committed to our work and our goals and motivated to take action towards achieving. Hope gives people to be consistent in their work with zeal and enthusiasm.

So, in the end, I would like to say that hope should not be just a feeling that we’d experience in a problematic situation. Instead, it should be a presence of mind that we stay in throughout any situation, be it cool or calm to very challenging.

Autobiography of a jacket: Part Two - Rishona Chopra

In the previous part, we read about Jacket, who has gone through surgery and his friend Coat, who has gone on a journey to find true happiness.

I, Coat, am now in the Himalayas, near Mount Everest. I am feeling freezing. Luckily I have worn a few layers, but it is still freezing! I think,' where am I now? I was fine, okay with a jacket and my owners. This place is so cold! I've been through a desert, where it was very scorching, had to tear my skin and now this freezing place!' As you can see, I am very annoyed and am considering going back to my home with Jacket, and he might feel much happier then.

It takes quite a few months to reach home, but what can I do if I stop? I have nothing to do and have no protection either. But somehow, I manage to get there.

When Jacket sees me, he is over the moon with joy. He asks me questions about my journey. After staying in front of the heater, I answered all his questions about how tiring my trip was.

I realized that I can't find happiness in things or places but within myself when I feel at home and feel joy.

Positivity - Rishona Chopra

If you reflect on your day and think how many times you think the answer would surely be ' many times but then when you think how many times you had positive thoughts the answer would be ' a few times. But the question is why have positivity? How can it affect us?

Firstly, what we think is what we do and as we do the consequences are equal and if that then it is most likely to happen than what we think comes true. But that might not sound like something you would actually believe in so let us take a look at it in another way:

Imagine you wishing that you would pass your exam but thinking you never can. Now, when you think that you never can pass your exam then you don't try harder, you have lost hope and when that is then you are sure to fail even when you could pass. Even if you worked very hard but thought that you will never pass then you could fail too. On the other hand, if you worked hard and also thought that you can pass the exam then you could pass!

So working hard and thinking positively both are important.

The Constitution is a book filled with fundamental rights and responsibilities. Some rights of the Constitution are- the right against exploitation, right of freedom of speech, emotions, professions and trade, right to freedom, right to freedom of religion, cultural and educational rights and right to constitutional remedies and right of equality. The laws are written in the Constitution ensure that our country is not in chaos. We also have essential duties, and with these duties, we can help our country progress. These duties are to abide by the Constitution and respect its ideals and institutions, the National Flag and the National Anthem, cherish and follow the noble ideals that inspired our national struggle for freedom, and uphold and protect the sovereignty and unity of India.

India became a republic on 26th January 1950 when it adopted the Constitution. We celebrate this day as Republic Day to show our gratitude and respect toward our Constitution.

We should always respect our Constitution and always follow the laws defined by it.
I am proud of our Constitution. It makes India a great nation.

Care - Aanya Kumar

We all show some kind of care. It can be care for nature, for friends and family, or even for our pets. We care for those with whom we have a special connection. There is one thing that needs care the most... but is not given the same by almost all of us. It's NATURE.

We -knowingly or not- tend to pollute it and do not care for it. Although there are a few people who have a feeling for nature. They protect it by any means and way. I think that everything in this world is to be cared for. Moreover, that's our only responsibility. We should salute how nature takes care of US and take care of IT.

Autobiography of a Jacket - Rishona Chopra

I am a jacket. Surprisingly, I don’t remember where I was born and who gave birth to me!! I had a similar look to my friend “Coat”. I was not popular at first because Coat was used in almost every home! When my owner did my surgery, which was the most painful thing, I got a  zig-zag structure that I heard people call zip that closed my chest and opened it. At first, it pained when my zip was used, but I got used to it.

Soon, I became famous.

You must think that made me happy, but you are half right. I felt sorry for Coat as he was hardly ever used, and sometimes I saw him cry too. I gave him support and love. He was happy, but that didn’t last long. He set on a journey to find true happiness. Don’t you feel sorry for him?
