Giving - Rishona Chopra

Based on the chapter 'giving' from the book Is Your Child Ready To Face The World by Dr Anupam Sibal.

When God blesses you financially, don't raise your standard of living. Raise your standard of giving.

                                                                                                                   - Mark Batterson

It is true what Mark Batterson has said, we should give not only when we are rich in our everyday lives, we should raise our standard of giving, it may not be just giving money, even giving a toy to a person who needs it or a book is an act of giving too!

A small act of giving could mean everything for a person. Giving not only makes the other person happy, but it makes us happy too. As said, ' make others happy, and you will be happy in the same way ' give and give, and you will feel better.

Bill Gates, one of the wealthiest people in the world, still has a kind, generous heart. When we are super rich or famous, we tend to become more competitive, and while doing that, we sometimes forget about the value of giving. Giving did no harm to Bill Gates; in fact, he has succeeded as a better human being. This isn't supposed to mean that we only give when we are super-rich; we can give as we wish.

We can give hope, love and happiness, and that is, in fact, faithful giving. When we give, we shouldn't expect the same from a person. We should give from our hearts.

I donate the things I don't need anymore to a suitable NGO. That, too, is giving. It doesn't mean that those things I am giving are dirty or nasty; they are as good as new. This brings a smile to the poor and my face too. Looking at one more advantage is that my room is better organized!!

Unity - Rishona Chopra

Unity is working together as a group. We can understand this by looking at a few puzzle pieces. Imagine those pieces are you and your friends who you are working with. Then you join those pieces together to form something beautiful, and in the same way, you are your friends work together as a team and make something marvellous!

To be able to work in a team, united is unity. To be united, you first need to learn to cooperate and have a good relationship with them, so you don't get in too many fights. I am not so good at teamwork, but I am trying to improve by being more cooperative.

As you might have heard,' unity is power. When the British attacked India, all Indians came together and fought with them, and because of us being a team, we were able to defeat the British.

Friendship - Samruddhi Patankar

Friendship is not always easy to get. Sometimes we need to achieve it. While making friends, we may get many difficulties but never give up. Always try and try. Everyone says try-try but never cry. So, I also needed to fight, and I achieved it, but sometimes that was so simple nobody could think.

Which time I fought and when I didn’t

  • When I wanted to make friends with Saanvi, I had to fight.
  • When I tried to make a friendship with Dhrit, that was very simple and easy.

I value their friendship, and that is why I tried.

My Imaginary Friend - Arav Agarwal

It is said, “A daily dose of daydreaming heals the heart, soothes the soul and strengthens the imagination.

An imaginary friend is an invisible friend we like to play with and who keeps us in the company. Having an imaginary friend enhances our creativity as we think of an imaginary friend.

My imaginary friend is my imaginary cricket bat. I talk to it, share my countless stories of success and failures with it and hold it tight when I need strength. It supports me in my matches and tells me to give my best. It also gives me hope in my sad times and builds my confidence. The best thing about my imaginary friend is that it listens patiently to all my sharing’s and is available whenever I need to talk. My imaginary friend is very special to me and is my best companion. If you have an imaginary friend, do share it with us.

Friendship - Arav Agarwal

As we are celebrating the value of Friendship at My Good School, I would like to share my experience of being a part of My Good School.

I have experienced that friendship at My Good School is learning, sharing and growing together. We meet every Sunday and together read a book, learn different life values from the book and share our reflections and experiences with each other experiencing the joy of reading, writing and speaking.

As part of an internship, we learn from each other by sharing our skills and being mentored by teachers from different schools all over India.

Yes, we are growing together at My Good School to become a better version of ourselves.

Thank you, My Good School, for this beautiful bond of friendship that you have created.

Teachers Travel With You All Your Life - Rishona Chopra

The chapter Teachers Travel With You All your life tells us how a teacher is a crucial factor in a child's success.

One poem in the book ' Tips & Tidbits for Parents and teachers' is about a teacher. She is a counsellor, police officer, travel agent, and many more things. After hearing this poem, I realized that this one simple word, 'teacher', means much more.

I, being a child, am not so sure about how teachers manage loads of work but am confident that they are indeed a mastermind. I have been taught by a few teachers that truly motivated me. What is so special about them is that they always find the good in a child and focus on growing that quality.

The chapter also highlighted that we shouldn't be dependent on teachers because the most outstanding teacher is our soul.
