My First 'Venture' to 'My Good School'...- Unnati Dabral
Did I call it a 'venture'?
Indeed yes.
You might be thinking, "Why I wrote venture instead of putting 'visit'?" Of course, to make my readers wonder why? And to make them curious.
I was a creative and rough-tough kid since I first started schooling. But that doesn't mean I was confident back then. When it comes to vivas, although my 'Know it All' attitude used to kick in, I used to get nervous. I still do.
So, the first fellow to join 'My Good School' happened to be my friend, Geetankshi. She told me about this opportunity at 'The English Book Depot'. She told me to write about 'What it takes to spread the joy of learning at schools?', mail it, and then wait for the reply. At first, I procrastinated on the task for a few days. My friend told me to visit the place and meet the founder. I thought it was a good idea. I wrote a mail to the head body before leaving for the visit.
The moment I reached there, I fell in love with the place.
I pondered, "What a wonder it would be to work in such a peaceful and calming environment!"
I went straight ahead towards our founder to greet him. With the intention of an intellectual chit-chat as I go. Alas! I end up giving an interview for the post. I was in bewilderment. Sandeep Sir asked me about learning; how do children learn?; what is the joy of learning; what can we do to spread it in our schools?
Amidst answering a few of them, I went blank for a few minutes. Firstly, I had no clue that I would be at the trigger point for the interview. Geetankshi told me otherwise. Secondly, It was an interview. Jeez, my heart was palpating. I was feeling so nervous. One could have seen my arm-hair twitch.
The interview was over. I felt the sluggishness under my skin. Sir told me about 'My Good School', its vision, Learning Forward India, etc. And soon after, I found my heartbeats slowing down and healing. It was Sandeep Sir, and what he said at the end, "So, this is what we do. Now you are a Fellow at My Good School. Welcome. अब तो मुझसे डर नहीं लग रहा, ना?"
I called the visit 'A Venture'.
And what a venture it was!
Have you ever 'Bungee Jumped'?
The nervousness and the feeling of hollowness in your stomach you get before jumping off the cliff is what I felt during the interview. And the power you have felt in your gut after accomplishing the task, that same power I felt after his words. And thus, I felt at home at that moment. The acceptance I got as an individual on my own was so pure. I was so happy, felt so content and thankful to god. The feeling was unforgettable.
I have always thought of being a part of such a generous vision. And getting an opportunity to work for 'Joy Of Learning' at 'My Good School' with such a fabulous team is the most 'beatific feeling' I had in so long.
I feel I am in the right place.
Thank you so much, Sir. 🙏

A trip to SchoolEducation.Com - Veda Varshita Marrivada
It was a fun and knowledgeable trip visiting the SchoolEducation.Com. It is a website created by the Good School Alliance program. It was an outstanding experience with many things to know about. As I scrolled through the web pages, I came across many other programs held by the Good Schools Alliance. There were many informative videos. Some programs were Happy Teachers, Sunday School, My Good School Retreat etc.
The school song of My Good School was melodious and splendid. It was soothing, lovely, and relaxing to hear. Also, many takeaways from the reflections given by many students were creative and helpful. Coming to the Internships, the reviews provided by the interns made me determined to become an intern in the future.
The various programs listed on the website gave me a sensation of excitement. The website also gave me the curiosity to learn many more things. The Meet and Greet podcasts were fascinating. It was a unique website because it was like an online school. There were several books to read. I could not notice how fast the time passed by just scrolling on the website for half an hour. The various programs also help us to build our vocabulary.
The My Good School Program focuses on the 6 C's, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, character, and citizenship, which are very important to success in our life and career. There is also a facility to buy many exciting books, such as:
Live Life In Crescendo
Blue Sky, White Cloud
Ratan Tata Ek Prakash Stambh
Where passion meets education
And many more are based on our daily life and have many things to learn. This website is very inspirational for me as I could understand there are "No limits to knowledge and learning". It was a spectacular trip visiting the SchoolEducation.com website.
In conclusion, we have many things to learn, and what we know today might help us tomorrow, and whatever we learn is a drop or a pond compared to an ocean. The trip to SchoolEducation.Com will allow us to learn many new things and succeed in our life.

How I Pity A Blank Page - Reveda Bhat
So, I love art.
There’s this thing I hate in my sketchbook, and that’s a page left blank after I’ve moved ahead to the others by drawing something on them.
I feel like a blank page symbolizes an emotion not spilt, a colour not splashed, a treasure not discovered and a mystery not unfolded!
Actually, I’m someone who doesn’t keep anything I want to express to myself, so either I spill it out, or I draw.
Plus, a blank page in my sketchbook is a part of my life that seems insignificant when no moment, no minute and no day is!
So, whenever it’s like that, I go back to the pages to fill them in with the colours of my life, to the days to fill them with memories and bring them back. Getting a happy memory back brings a smile to my face, while when it’s a sad one, you can find the deep sorrow reflected in my sketches.
Either way, add just the colourful ones below.

To smile every day - Rishona Chopra
I feel happy today,
An aim to smile every day.
It's a unique ray of hope,
That gives me a new scope.
To do something good,
I misunderstood,
The word happiness.
I thought there was a reason for this smile.
But all this while.
I was wrong to think,
That happiness could shrink.
It was something even more special,
That came from within and was sentimental.
I couldn't possibly want something more,
But to be happier than before.

The Art of Giving - Rishona Chopra
It is true what Mark Batterson has said, we should give not only when we are rich in our everyday lives, we should raise our standard of giving, it may not be just giving money, even giving a toy to a person who needs it or a book is an act of giving too!
A small act of giving could mean everything to a person. Giving not only makes the other person happy but also makes us happy. As said,' make others happy, and you will be satisfied in the same way give and give, and you will feel better.
Bill Gates, one of the wealthiest people in the world, still has a kind, generous heart. When we are super rich or famous, we tend to become more competitive, and while doing that, we sometimes forget about the value of giving. Giving did no harm to Bill Gates; he has succeeded as a better human being. This doesn't mean we only offer when we are super-rich; we can provide as we wish.
We can give hope, love and happiness, and that is, in fact, faithful giving. When we give, we shouldn't expect the same from a person. We should give from our hearts.
At Christmas, we receive gifts but have we ever thought that instead of receiving, we should give more and buy things, not for us but others in need. If we can not afford it, it makes no sense to buy things for us until we need them. There is a tremendous difference between want and need. When we want something, we don't really need them; when we need them, we want to use them properly. So on Christmas, we should give and not take, and we should give it in such a way that we do not mind if the other offers a return gift.
Giving is a sense of happiness and pleasure. Making someone smile makes your day smile.

Why The Mistakes? - Rishona Chopra
When our teachers make a small mistake like a typo error, don't all students point it out, but most of us don't even thank them when she teaches well. We, humans, practice always pointing out mistakes, and even I do, but we never appreciate things. Look at nature; we never understand its beautiful branches but point out the dry flower.
In the same way, we all don't notice what we have but see what we don't. We have a family, a home, a school to go to, books, fancy pens, and clothes to wear, but still, we eye the things we don't have. Like a pair of shoes, we don't appreciate that at least we have feet. Have you ever thanked God for giving you a healthy and happy life? Have you felt gratitude for having a beautiful face, hands, and legs? We think it is normal, but it's not. Even giving birth in this world is a blessing.

I am unique - Rishona Chopra
Dear Diary,
Yes. Today was tough, not the best, I was made fun of at school, but I got all A's on my English Test, so that's a good thing. I got the highest score in SSC but not a total score; I got two questions wrong. I don't know why but usually, the things that troubled me to seem to stay in my head and affect me a lot. I might be short; I don't know why. I like to cuddle with my mother, I don't know why. I want to spend my time with books, I don't know why. I am different, but I am unique. What matters is that my heart is beautiful. If I study too much, people call me a nerd. If I don't, they call me a fool. I can never stand up to one's expectations, but I can always stand up to my dreams and expectations. I am not perfect. I am satisfied with who I am.
You might be thinking, why am I talking about such sentimental things, but these thoughts perhaps refresh your mind. Maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but I am just sharing some of myself with you. Yes, you find it useless now. You may shut the book and keep it aside.
It's easy to say all these words, but these simple words have a deeper and more difficult meaning to them. They don't always make you happy. We all feel the urge to stand up to our teachers, parents and friends' expectations but are we living our life for them? If someone calls me nerdy, will I stop studying and enjoying my life? Of course, I feel like changing to become friends with them but why when I am unhappy?
I just don't know how to express this happiness of mine. Happiness? How on Earth can I be happy? Well, I am so glad because I am different. I am unique just the way I am!
We all seek answers to these questions we can never know about, like" Why am I different? Why has God made me like this?" All this is just fate, and fate is always good. Being a little alone is always good because it helps you know more about yourself. No matter if anyone is there for you, you are always there for yourself. Ask yourself a few questions about yourself:
What is your favourite hobby?
Where do you love to spend your time?
Who is your best friend?
Who does you like spending time with?
If you took time to think about these questions, perhaps you don't know a part of yourself. We spend so much time thinking about others that we forget that there is much more to explore in ourselves. There is a part of us we don't know; how many of us know our ambition in life? Yes, maybe a doctor, an author, or even a good human, but can you answer this in a second? You don't have to be a narcissist but perhaps a bit more self-confident about yourself.
The best time you can ever spend with someone is with yourself. This made me feel better... Good Night! (somebody)

Into the Fabric Buzz - Anvesha Rana
As I enter the fabric buzz,
I look here and there,
Nothing seems to be
Right enough to wear.
The colours are strong.
But they do not stand out,
The lines are long,
But they only wait for a shout.
The clothes at the start
Are overflowing with jewels,
Their colours do not blend,
Their design is awful,
Their pattern makes me feel bad
But what can I do?
Yet People look over them.
As if precious diamonds,
Yet the mass buys them
As if a lost treasure,
And yet all wear them
As their prized possessions.
I can’t manage to look.
At such faces,
Not because I am jealous,
But it just makes me feel devastated.
So, I enter deeper into the market,
Where there is less racket,
And for the first time,
I see something I like.
The clothes at the end
Do not stand out,
But they make me feel welcome.
They have just the right.
Blend of colours yet
No one there for them,
They have just the
Perfect pattern yet
No one sees them,
They have just the
Best design yet
No one buys them,
They have just the
Good inside yet
No one understands them.
I like it better here,
In the end,
The start is too crowded and painful,
But the end has no one yet it is oozing
With Love.
The Way we see Beauty,
Is no different from this,
We like the ones with pretty faces,
But not the ones with untied laces.
We seek perfection in looks,
Not in books.
Beauty lies within,
And there is no beauty out,
When there is no beauty in.

Love - Rishona Chopra
Love is when you care for somebody so dearly that often the care is a silent one. My parents have loved me unconditionally. They might not have time for other things, but they have all the time in the world for me.
As Jetzunma Tenzin Palmo rightly said, love is when you say - I love you because I want you to be happy; if that includes me, great if it doesn't matter. I think absolute joy is when we give love. We can provide that love for our parents. A cup of water when they come home, asking them how their day was and giving them a big tight hug can show your love. After all, love has to be in actions, not in words. Unconditional love is essential for happiness and satisfaction. If we love others unconditionally, others will also love us similarly.
Even self-love is quite essential. Of course, that doesn't mean that we should be a narcissist. Self-love includes self-esteem. Often looking at others, doubts arise in our minds like - Should I be more like her? Am I not good? Why is she so good at everything?. Instead of doubting ourselves, we should love ourselves.
Love is not only for people but for our work too. With passion and love for our work, we can achieve anything!
'Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage.'

The World of Television - Simar Kaur
Hey, 'how
you doin'?'. This infamous dialogue, iconic, I might add, is a signature of
Joey from the hit sitcom 'Friends'. I honestly couldn't count how many
times it had made me laugh, even when I was at my lowest.
The perfect
life of cinema where everything seems to lead to a happy ending is the perfect
run-away for me when my life seems shattered. Whenever my life seems too much to handle, I run away to my imaginary friends, with whom I can share everything.
The amazingly sarcastic Chandler, the hopeless romantic Ted dedicated to
finding 'The One', the motherly nature of Lily, the overprotective Finn, the
'drowning with creativity' Barney, the 'smart guy' Sheldon, they all are the
friends I never had. I get scolded every single day for watching television way
too much. But the truth is that I love to live another life, and coming back to
my regular boring, uninteresting life just seems hectic.
Even if they
are just a figment of someone's imagination, they bring joy to me, and I feel
happy spending my time with them. Watching television always brings me joy, and I would like to thank them through this article. I am tremendously
confused about what I want to do when I grow up. But a part of me wants
to pursue the arts – acting, singing and dancing. But um, I am a terrible
dancer, but I got a good throat, and over the years, after watching shows, I can
somehow cry on cue. So, let's focus on the first two arts that I mentioned.
Don't you
want to pursue a more professional career? Nobody asked you, Patrice! That's
precisely how contradicting the voices in my heart are. While one part of me
wants to become a professional employee with an acclaimed job like a doctor,
accountant, lawyer, or engineer, the other part wants to spread the joy I
experienced while watching my favourite tv shows and movies. So, frankly, I
want to be an actor. But I don't know if I'm down for it, especially
considering my stage fear.
When I lost
my grandfather, these TV shows and movies helped me in the magnitude of words I
cannot express. WandaVision may not be the kind of TV show that teaches you a
life lesson, but the line that stood by me was 'What is grief if not love
persevering?'. That changed my perspective, and I want this grief to stay with
me for years to come.
So many dialogues
changed my perception of life and helped me while still giving me
joy. 'The biggest mistake would be not to make that mistake because then
you'll go your whole life not knowing if something was a mistake or not.' 'It's
one thing to not want it. It's another thing to be told you can't have
it.' These are a few of the most tear-jerking lines spoken by the characters.
But the line that I relate to now is 'I realized that I'm
searching for what I really want in life. And you know what? I have absolutely
no idea what that is.' Maybe I'll study to become a
doctor or engineer in a few years. But perhaps, just possibly, I might be spreading the kind of
joy I grew up experiencing.
But I will
realize that I can't run to the past just because it seems familiar and because
I'm comfortable with it. I will never be ready to face
these obstacles, but life goes on, and you have to catch up with it one way or
the other. This stuff is more straightforward said than done. So, I am aware there will be a
day when I feel happier and satisfied. There will be a day when I'll share that
happiness with people I will love while growing up. But just not today, just
not right now…
And that is friends, how I met the world of television.
