What water would do? - Nibbrati Rathore

How do we find fulfilment in a world that is constantly changing?

Nibbrati Rathore, a mathematics teacher, struggled with these questions until she came across the ancient Chinese philosophy of Tao Yep Ching. In it, she found a passage comparing the goodness of water, an idea she is now applying to her everyday life. In this podcast, she shares- “Philosophy of water” and “What water would do”?

Quality is the mother of all values, and how it is the most essential of all.

Like Crumpled Paper - Rishona Chopra

Humanity is now like Crumpled Paper.

Let's just say - wholly ruined. But if you look at this crumpled paper, doesn't it look a little beautiful?

All we need is hope to change humanity.

Some look at the crumpled paper like a waste, but I look at it like beauty. This means that we can change society into something beautiful with hope and positive thoughts!

Totto-chan's Mother - Amaira Bhati

Totto-chan’s mother is kind, gentle and calm. Totto Chan had been expelled from her old school, but her mother had not scolded her, and she did not even tell her about the suspension so as to not upset her daughter. Instead, she made Totto Chan go to a new school.

The teacher of Totto-chan’s old school was disappointed and annoyed by her but mother always stood by Totto-chan’s side and let Totto Chan be the cheerful and chirpy girl she was; mother kept Totto-chan’s expulsion a secret.

It was the first day of Totto-chan’s new school, Tomoe Gakuen. It was a school with railroad cars as classrooms, and it deeply excited the jovial Totto Chan. Her mother played a crucial role in all this; she encouraged Totto-chan to share what she liked at the school that day and listened to all her tales with amusement.

Even when Totto-chan ran to her mother and told her she wanted to be a ticket collector, her mother coolly reminded her that she wanted to be a spy instead. Totto-chan is very lucky to have a Mother so encouraging. Deep down, Totto-chan’s Mother knew all about her daughter’s potential even when she concealed her feelings most of the time. That’s the power of a mother.

The Bravery Test - Rishona Chopra

Being brave is simply overcoming your fears. It can be your fear of the dark or of a dog or ghosts or shadows by just doing it. If you are scared, you will fall if you climb a tree, then don't do it, but if you want to overcome your fear, just do it.

In the previous chapter, The Great Adventure, Totto-chan and Yasuaki-chan showed great courage. It took a lot of effort to climb a tree, but they did not give up and continued trying. In the end, climbed the tree and had lots of fun!

Totto-chan overcomes her fear of ghosts. Of course, you don't have to meet ghosts, but just through thoughts, you can overcome your fear. She soon was happy in her fear too! She thought that if we are scared of ghosts, ghosts are afraid of us too!

Totto-chan's Mother - Anvesha Rana

Totto-chan's mother is a unique parent. She understands her daughter like a mother, treats her like a friend and protects her like a soldier. Totto-chan is lucky to have such a benevolent mother who supports her in all her decisions. She is a calm and composed lady and has brought up her daughter similarly.

The best part about Totto-chan's mother and Totto-chan is the comfort level that the mother and daughter share, so much so that Totto-chan shares everything with her mother. Behind every young child who believes in himself is a parent who believes first. Totto-chan is an open minded and free spirited child only because she has a mother who doesn't want her to walk in her footsteps, but she wishes for Totto-chan to imprint her own feet on a new field.

Totto-Chan's mother is just like my mother,

She is soft hearted yet strong willed,

She is compassionate yet unwavering in principle,

She is a loving mother, yet she wants her to go beyond the horizons,

She worries about her daughter, yet she pushes her into the waters,

In short, simply a SUPER MOM.

Totto Chan's mother - Rishona Chopra

The illustration also by Rishona Chopra

Totto-chan's mother is a sweet, compassionate woman who is a lovely parent. She is patient and kind and loves her daughter Totto-chan. Totto-chan had been expelled from school. If it was any other mother, she would have grounded her or punished her or given her a long lecture, but Totto-chan 's mother didn't even let her know that she was expelled and just took her to a new school!

Compassion and understanding make a mother. Even if she had scolded her daughter, it would have been for the best, but after all, Totto-chan didn't do anything wrong either. She could also have scolded the teacher, but she understood her feelings and reacted accordingly and did not take decisions in haste.

She is a sweet mother,
She loves her daughter and couldn't want another!

She is kind and sweet,
Patient and neat,

She loves her daughter dearly,
She treats her like a fairy!
