Moments, Moods, and Meanings: Reflections from Carl and Schascha’s World - Aayush Kumar Singh

Jai Hind to all,

I am Aayush Kumar Singh from Sunbeam Ballia, studying in Class 10 A, and I would like to share my reflection on today’s session by Mr Jugjiv Singh Sir.

Carl, Schascha, and the Shifting Moods

We began by exploring how the weather affects our mood, just like it did for Carl and Schascha. It’s interesting how a gloomy day can really get under your skin, but then a simple pleasure—like the ice cream Carl and Schascha shared—can completely turn things around. It shows how even small moments of joy can lift our spirits.

The Simon Incident: A Puzzling Push

The incident where Simon pushed Schascha definitely sparked some conversation. We discussed various reasons why a boy might do something like that. Carl’s interpretation—that Simon might actually like Schascha—offered a sweet, if slightly mischievous, perspective. It makes you wonder if kids sometimes use playful teasing as a way to hide their true feelings.

A Quick Detour into English Spellings

Just when we were completely immersed in Carl and Schascha's world, we took a fascinating detour into the differences between American and British English spellings. It was a great reminder of how language has its own interesting variations, even within the same language.

I am responsible for... - Rishona Chopra

There are quite a few things we have control over. We often try to grasp something we cannot control. We notice and try to change others, their habits and choices. When, in reality, we only have control over ourselves. Another aspect is understanding that we are responsible for ourselves. Our decisions are purely ours.

Often, we try to blame others for our reactions. If I submit my project late, I blame the internet, but was it really the internet's fault that it stopped working and that my project was lost? Should I have been more proactive and worked on an offline platform or saved my work?

I have also noticed that I start blaming others for my own mistakes unconsciously without realising it.

When we get sick, do we not blame the weather for changing? Do we think that our immunity should have been stronger? Do we think that this weather change is caused by us humans only? Most of us blame the weather as if it is controlled by someone, not us.

Life is like a book, and we are the author. The book takes a turn of events, but it all happens before the author, and the conclusion is the author's choice. Several characters in that book influence and help in the formation of the story, but it is the author's thinking that makes the difference.

I am responsible for whatever I do and any action I take. I am responsible for myself.

How Can I Ever Forget You? - Vani Pandey

'Come out and play. The weather is so good outside. You have been sitting there for a long time,' said Lia.

'I just want to sit here and do nothing. And you know I enjoy solitude. I don't want anybody's company,' said Amy.

'But I don't like seeing you all day in one corner. Doesn't your body ache?' Lia asked with curiosity.

'I am pretty used to being like this. Why don't you go hang out with Joe?' asked Amy.

'You know I am your sister, and I still care for you a lot. You expect me to leave you just the way you are,' said Lia.

'I know that. I just don't want you to waste your time caring for me. You should have forgotten me by now,' said Amy sadly.

'How can I ever do that?' asked Lia.

Just then, Lia's mother- Dory, came into the room.

'Who are you talking to, Lia? Asked Dory.

'No one, mother. Just the toys,' said Lia.

Dory smiles and leaves.

Lia sighs and continues talking to the photo.
