Autobiography Of A Phone 📱 - Oshi Singh

Hello There! It is the strongest, most powerful thing available on Earth. Yeah, you guessed it right. The modern smartphone. I am sitting at the White House and writing this autobiography. My autobiography! 

Well, my journey began 30 years ago, in 1992. When 'IBM' invented the first smartphone called 'Simon'. When Simon succeeded, more of his family was created in the factory. 

I was one of the first ones to be created in the factory. While all my brothers and sisters went to different countries. I was still in the United States Of America. I was sitting in a shop watching people, and time passed by. What caught my attention was that most everyone was walking with their parents. I got really fascinated about who my parents might be? 

At that moment, I was brutally disturbed by a man who brought me here to the White House. For many months and days, which felt like ages, I was busy thinking about the answer to my question. 

The next day, a visitor came with his own smartphone and one of my brothers. I decided to let all the burden on my mind and technology out! I asked him all I wanted to know about my family. He told me about my family and birth, what humans call 'invention'. 

Our parents were 'Wired Landlines'! They had tails and didn't possess their own calculators, address book, world clock, fax, games calendar app, email or any modern technology we have! They just possessed the quality of being able to call. Also, he told me that they were really cheap for like the cost of 8 dollars! 

Afterall all this knowledge, I felt so grateful! We are so educated! So I started working hard. I found more things about myself and became Independent. I learnt new things every day, like the fear of being without a phone is Nomophobia. Hearing or Feeling your phone ring is Ringxiety. The first text message was made in December 1992. 

Although there was something that was still bothering me. It was not related to my family but rather a new emotion I had never felt before. It was guilt! After so many years of helping humans out, that was the day that I realised what a big sin we phones have committed! We spoiled their health, their ability to learn, find their own mistakes, and much more! Don't deny it; look at yourself! Do you go out? Do you play outdoor games? Do you have good eyesight? Do you try solving the questions? Do you keep trying until you get it right? No, the answer to all these questions is a simple NO. Now all you humans do is sit at home, play online games, and search Google for your homework questions and nowadays, children as young as 5-6 are wearing glasses! 

Now all I do is wait for death. I keep thinking about how humans will improve my siblings and me to what they think is bringing a positive impact in their lives by making it easier for them.

Gratitude - Rishona Chopra

I am happy because I am grateful. I chose to be thankful. That gratitude allows me to be satisfied. - Will Arnett

Gratitude is to be thankful. We have so many things in our lives to be grateful for. In fact, everything we have we should be happy with!

We have a home to live in, 
We have goals that thrive, 
We have clothes to wear,
And we have the education to share!

The challenges that we face, 
Are just the base,
For us to become a divine soul,
And reach our primary goal!

This poem tells us that there are several things to thank for! Every happy and sad moment is a blessing, the tragic, challenging moments make you more resilient and mature, and the happy ones are for you to enjoy! 

The food we eat is a great blessing. Not everyone is lucky to get as delicious food as us.
All of us have three meals a day. They sustain and nourish us to sit, move, speak, smile, and complete tasks. It is essential to love and respect what we eat for the way food serves us. We often find ourselves grumbling or judging the food on our plates. We reject it unawares with statements like – "I'm bored of eating this every morning, This dish is so bland, I wish my mother could cook better." We also worry or feel guilty – "I might put on weight. What if my sugar levels increase? This doesn't taste fresh. I hope I won't fall sick." Once we decide to eat, let's enjoy the food, not think of its effects. Let's create thoughts of gratitude and love before and while eating. The quality or quantity may not always be perfect. Never mind – we have enjoyed (and will continue to enjoy) thousands of delicious meals. The few imperfections should not change our respect for food.

Food that we eat every day is nutrition for our body. We choose what is healthy. We can determine what is tasty, but if we say we will be happy when we eat something specific, our happiness depends on our food. Sit back, and visualize yourself happy while having your meals and radiating happy energy into your food. We often create a point of irritation when we eat something which is not tasty for us. Food may not be delicious… but happiness or irritation is our choice. Practice today to not allow your food to influence your mind. Criticizing what you eat radiates negative energy to the food, which then affects your mind. Before every meal today, pause and reaffirm, "I am happy and calm as I eat my meal. I energize the food with my happiness."

Space Highlights Of The Month Of August - Rishona Chopra


The new image from the Hubble Space Telescope captures a galaxy named SGAS J143845+145407, located in the northern Boötes, one of the most prominent constellations in the sky. The mirror image of the galaxy at the centre of this new photo results from strong gravitational lensing. This astronomical phenomenon can warp, magnify or even duplicate the appearance of distant galaxies"Gravitational lensing occurs when a massive celestial body — such as a galaxy cluster — causes a sufficient curvature of spacetime for the path of light around it to be visibly bent, as if by a lens," according to a statement from the European Space Agency (ESA). "Appropriately, the body causing the light to curve is called a gravitational lens, and the distorted background object is referred to as being 'lensed.'"

At the centre of the new Hubble image, the bright light emanating from SGAS appears as an arc or ring around either side of the object that lies between the distant galaxy and the space telescope. The image also captures several other galaxies and celestial objects scattered across space. Gravitational lensing also allows astronomers to observe objects that would otherwise be too far away or too faint to be seen. The distortion caused by the foreground object acts as a natural magnifying glass, zooming in on more distant celestial objects. The recent image of galaxy SGASJ143845+145407 was taken as part of a larger Hubble initiative to study galaxies of the early universe using gravitational lensing to examine the galaxies up close." The lensing reveals details of distant galaxies that would otherwise be unobtainable, allowing astronomers to determine star formation in early galaxies," ESA officials said. "This, in turn, gives scientists a better insight into how the overall evolution of galaxies has unfolded."

At the beginning of the month, JWST captured images of the Cartwheel galaxy. The Cartwheel, located about 500 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky, is a rare type of galaxy that astronomers call a ring galaxy. Scientists believe the Cartwheel was a typical spiral galaxy long ago, similar to our Milky Way. This galaxy formed due to a high-speed collision about 400 million years ago. The Cartwheel comprises two rings, a bright inner ring and a colourful outer ring. Both rings expand outward from the centre of the collision like shockwaves. However, despite the impact, much of the character of the large, spiral galaxy that existed before the crash remains, including its rotating arms. This leads to the "spokes" that inspired the name of the Cartwheel Galaxy, which are the bright red streaks seen between the inner and outer rings. 

These brilliant red hues, located not only throughout the Cartwheel but also in the companion spiral galaxy at the top left, are caused by glowing, hydrocarbon-rich dust. In this near- and mid-infrared composite image, MIRI data are coloured red, while NIRCam data are coloured blue, orange, and yellow. Webb's observations capture the Cartwheel in a very transitory stage. Given these two competing forces, the form that the Cartwheel Galaxy will eventually take is still a mystery.

The greatest gift - Rishona Chopra


The greatest gift we want to give to our loved ones every day, at every moment, is happiness. We spend time with them, buy them physical comforts, and support them, yet they are sometimes unhappy. Most likely, it is because we are unhappy. Happiness is energy, not matter. Just by being happy ourselves and being happy while discharging our responsibilities, our happy vibrations radiate and trigger the happiness frequency in our loved ones and uplift their state of mind to happiness.

Have you sensed that you need to make much more effort in sustaining your roles and responsibilities if your mind is unhappy? Despite your extra steps to care for and provide for them, are your family and friends unhappy with you? Does it leave you wondering what more you should have done? We often quantify our efforts and measure our loved ones’ happiness against it. The truth is, how much we do for people doesn’t matter. What matters is how happy we were while doing everything.

While caring for people or doing something for them, let us not create thoughts of stress, fear, anxiety, anger or pain. Otherwise, our negativity is sure to deplete people we do so much for, not allowing them to be happy with us. Without being happy, you cannot give happiness to others. Be happy and do everything that you need to do. It’s your energy which influences their happiness.

Remind yourself – “I am an embodiment of happiness. Being happy myself and taking care of people keeps my loved ones happy.” When you experience unconditional happiness, you have nothing but happiness to give everyone. You don’t even have to offer; it automatically radiates. From today, let bliss be your natural way of living. Let nothing and no one pull you down. In every scene, contribute towards creating a happy family, workplace and world by always being happy.

My Little Sin - Vani Pandey

I woke up at five to see,

A little flower waiting for me. 

Just outside my room's window,

On a quiet tall, and bushy willow.

It danced along the breeze happily,

As if asking me to join too!

So I stretched my arms to get it in,

Oh god, but I wish I knew!

That it would turn out to be a sin.

I brought the flower inside,

And asked it to dance with me.

But it just said nothing rather sighed,

Thinking it was tiring, I let it be.

The next morning I visited it again,

Just to find it dying in pain.

"Oh, poor flower, how should I save you. How should I dance just the wanted me to?"

But it said just said nothing,

For its breath had been taken away.

I woke up at five just to see,

A little dead flower who died for me.

Gratitude - Arfa Khan

We all are familiar with the feeling that life is not as we want; our relationships are not deep enough, we are not successful enough, and we don't have the things we crave. This is the feeling of dissatisfaction, a feeling that makes you at others with envy and at yourself with shame. Social media makes it worse by showing us the picture-perfect life others have, unlike us. We have seen many people laughing and enjoying their lives...but their lives aren't perfect too. Then why are some people happier than others? Can we also apply their methods to be more comfortable and more satisfied? It all sums up to one thing - Gratitude. 

Gratitude is a feeling that connects us with the positive side of the world. There are many ways to practice it, like gratitude journaling, where we write about the things we are grateful for. There are many everyday things in life for which we should be grateful, and we might be taking them for granted, like:

  1. Recovery/ Post-Crisis -

Life can feel fabulous after recovery like an enormous burden has been lifted off our shoulders. We can do many things that we couldn't do earlier. Objectively, our life would be the same or maybe slightly worse than before, but we compare the present to when life was terrible and react with gratitude.


  1. Our Relationships-

We might feel lonely or want more friends, but there might be one or multiple people wanting to spend time with us. We might feel this is not enough and feel bad. If we're grateful for our relationships, we might accept the offers or take the initiative. Many people don't have anyone and suffer from mental illnesses, but we have many people who care for us.


  1. Anyone who means a lot to you-

There might be someone significant in our lives, and we can't imagine life without them. By comparing our life with and without them, we feel grateful that they are with us.


  1. Fate-

We have many things in our everyday life many don't have, like clean water and food, money, access to the internet, limbs, eyes, ears etc. We should be grateful for these things.  


Scientists have found many benefits of gratitude journaling. Many participants showed more happiness and life satisfaction after practising for a few weeks and even a change in brain activity after a few months. It's pretty mind-blowing that something as simple as writing about a few things you are grateful for can help fight dissatisfaction. We know our life is hard, but it might not be as bad as it seems if we look from a different perspective.
