Ignorance - Rishona Chopra

Ignorance is when we ignore the law of nature.

When we think life will never end and we are immortal and will live forever is ignorance. When we forget that things change, we and ignorant.

If you think you have come out of the world of ignorance and have achieved something great, and now you are more extraordinary, this thought simply displays that you are in the world of ignorance.

Ignorance is thinking that you are greater or your success will never end. Once you achieve something big and instead of being greedy for more, you cherish it: being free from ignorance. When the thought does not come to your mind that your success will never end, you are free.

The most prominent example is Lord Buddha. Did he ever show off his success and strength? No, because he was free from ignorance. And as he rightly said, desire is the cause of pain. This doesn't mean we shouldn't have ambitions and dreams. There is a simple difference between the desire of want and need. If you desire to be selfless and humble, then be it but then don't be too proud over that because once you link want and greed with need, all the pain begins.

Ignorance leads to ego, and ego leads to anger and greed. To stop this connection, we need to be humble.

World Earth Day - Anvesha Rana

Preserve and cherish the pale blue dot,
the only home we've ever known.

Earth Day, celebrated on the 22nd of April each year, should be actually recognised every day! The Earth is the only home we know, yet we are constantly demolishing this beautiful planet with our skyscrapers, machinery, industries and technology. The fun fact is that everyone knows this, but we all are just too busy to save the planet which birthed us.

Life originated from Earth, Humans evolved through earth, and today we are alive and breathing because of Earth. We should not just mark a particular day to save Earth; after all, Earth provides us food and shelter all year round and all days and has been doing that since the beginning of the human race. We can do our small action in return for this service by simply dedicating at least 5 minutes of our day to Earth.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you, and Don't Destroy the planet that Helps You!

                                                                She birthed us,
She took us in her lap,
                                                               She nurtured us,
                                                            Let's Love her back,
After all, She is our Mother,
                                                                 Mother Earth.

We learn from Nature - Rishona Chopra

We learn almost everything from nature. The way trees sway, we might learn a dance move from them. Some birds even dance in coordination with their very own dance teacher! ( I am not joking) . The way the weaver bird weaves its nest is so mesmerizing, and if you observe them closely, we humans knit the same way as them, except we use needles, and they use their beaks!

Noticing the movement of birds, we made aeroplanes. We learned about hibernation because animals don't move or eat much in winters.

Nature gives us education and other necessary things we need to live. When nature is so kind to us, why are we so rude to it? Why don't we care for the outdoors the same way nature cares for us?

Friendship - Khushi Badgeri

Friendship is a state of trust where two friends spend time talking and knowing each other. Friendship is an important relationship in everyone's life. It means understanding, forgiveness, growing together, sharing, and keeping secrets. Mainly it also needs to have lots of patience.

For me, my true friendship is with my books and nature. I love to see the beauty of nature and write its beauty in my book. I love to plant seeds and see their different stages of growth. I can talk to them
while watering or being around them. Plants can listen to you and feel your touch. You have to preserve nature. It's our responsibility in friendship. The more you plant trees and take care of nature there will be greenery everywhere which will help our ecosystem.

Friendship - Aarohi Bumtariya

Hmmm, what does friendship mean? Let me tell you what it does. Friendship means making close friends. For example, I have a friend named Amayra. She had been only in pre-nursery with me. I am in grade 3 now. Still, she is my friend. That is called true friendship.

I have lots of other friends too. There are trees, plants, birds and animals. All help us in one or the other way. We also help them. This tells us that in friendship, one must help the other.

That’s yet not done. I also have Aryama and Janya. They have helped me many times. Friendship does not only mean helping each other but also having fun. Janya, Aryama, Amayra and I went to a resort to stay together as well!!! Not only that but we went cycling together in Biodiversity Park too! It was fun.

May it be the sun, the moon, the clouds, nature or children. They are all my friends. I love and care for all of them.

The Art Of Appreciation - Aria Gupta

People think if they only like a little bit of something they have, they appreciate it. But genuine appreciation is when we are genuinely thankful for what we have. Humans tend to value things when they are taken away from us. We only appreciated our classrooms when covid-19 took it away from us as students. Our parents could only admire their offices when they couldn't enter their offices anymore. This is human nature. We can only understand their value when we don't have them. You can imagine what will happen if the things you have aren't with you, and that is when you learn to appreciate things.

A Destroyed World - Rishona Chopra

What can destroy the world or what has destroyed the world?

What could the answer be pollution, poaching, war or what? Wait, is it the Covid -19? No, it's none of them but the root cause for all of them…ego.

Ego has a lot of pride, which leads to greed, selfishness, jealousy, and ultimately leads to anger. All these things whose root cause is ego can destroy the world. In fact, they have.

Greediness leads to war, followed by destruction. Having greed also means being selfish. Just care about ourselves, and when we are selfish, we don't care about animals and nature and start polluting it. We think we are the most incredible creatures on Earth, and without us, nothing can live. We are so wrong. I would like to share a few lines from the poem "There Will Come Soft Rains" by Sara Teasdale.

Not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.

Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree,
If mankind perished utterly.

These lines written by Sara Teasdale say that mankind would perish because of war, but nature will continue. We are just a part of this world, but God's most beautiful and dependent creation is nature.

Now that we know the root cause of this trouble and why having an ego is really for stupid reasons, we have to change that.

'The ego seeks to divide and separate. Spirit seeks to unify and heal.'

'Ego is just a small three-letter word, which can destroy a big twelve letter word called relationship.'

Empathy - Anusha Jain

Anusha Jain, IX-D, Ahlcon Public School
I am very fond of reading, and Harry Potter is my favourite series.

My Empathy Collage
The highest form of knowledge is Empathy. It is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, feeling with the heart of another. Empathy is an action we take to benefit someone after keeping ourselves in someone else's shoes. It will help to shape a more civil society and a humane world.

The concept of Empathy is not limited to other humans. Empathy towards nature, our surroundings, our animals, and, most importantly, towards ourselves is essential. My collage below is all about my feelings and emotions related to Empathy.

Care - Aanya Kumar

We all show some kind of care. It can be care for nature, for friends and family, or even for our pets. We care for those with whom we have a special connection. There is one thing that needs care the most... but is not given the same by almost all of us. It's NATURE.

We -knowingly or not- tend to pollute it and do not care for it. Although there are a few people who have a feeling for nature. They protect it by any means and way. I think that everything in this world is to be cared for. Moreover, that's our only responsibility. We should salute how nature takes care of US and take care of IT.

The trees are so beautiful.
To make our Earth bountiful.

Save Environment - Simran Soni

The word environment refers to all ecological units naturally present on earth in the form of land, water, air, soil, forest, sunlight, minerals, living organisms, etc. The earth is full of natural surroundings, some are biotic, and some are non-biotic. We should save our environment by planting more and more trees. World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5th June and is the United Nations' principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action to protect the environment.

On world environment day, we all take a day off from our work and join various campaigns to spread awareness about environmental protection. Moreover, we all plant small saplings in a barren land to grow and flourish in the land area after some years. We also take part in various processions to make people aware of this day to protect our environment.
