Reflections from an Engaging Reading and Learning Session - Sunbeam School Ballia

In today’s reading session, Brinda ma’am completed a chapter that described the richness of Corfu Island through vivid descriptions of various characters such as Quasimodo, Achilles, the Rose-Beetle Man, the tortoise, and others. I also learned some new words like pantomime (an art form that uses only facial expressions, similar to Bharatanatyam), gramophone, and bowler hat. Ma’am explained all the terms beautifully and also gave us homework to learn more about the Achilles Hills. She emphasised the importance of imagining the descriptions to better understand the text.

Manisha ma’am taught us another chapter about four boys who decided to climb a glacier. She explained the importance of knowing about a place in advance and carrying the required equipment before climbing any mountain. Manisha ma’am also asked us to write about our own journey and travel experiences. I would like to mention my first trip to Dehradun with two of my lovely friends and a teacher. During this journey, I enjoyed myself a lot and learned many new things. It was a memorable experience that I will never forget.

Along with this, Jugjiv Sir shared an essential fact about the Saryu River, which connects Dehradun to Ayodhya.

I attended the Good School Alliance Session today. There was a discussion of the chapter “My Family and Other Animals.” The lesson explanation was straightforward and enjoyable, which helped me understand the characters and the chapter’s main message clearly. I really enjoyed the discussion because it made the lesson lively and easy to relate to real life.

After that, the reflections were read. It was interesting to listen to them as everyone shared unique ideas and perspectives. This activity helped me reflect more deeply and motivated me to improve my own reflection writing.

Overall, the class was interactive, enjoyable, and a meaningful learning experience for me.

Today, I attended an exciting and inspiring session in my school where Manisha ma’am read a beautiful story about four brave people planning to climb Mount Snowy Mountain Glacier. The story also mentioned the mysterious Yeti, a mythical creature believed to live in hilly areas, which made the session even more exciting and enjoyable. We discussed many valuable qualities, such as teamwork, courage, and positive thinking, which motivated me a lot. Overall, the session was fantastic and memorable for me.

The reading session featuring Jugjiv Sir and Brinda Ghosh was an absolute delight. Jugjiv Sir’s storytelling stood out for his impeccable punctuation and crisp pronunciation, which ensured every nuance of the narrative was captured. His use of dynamic facial expressions and vocal modulation added a layer of depth, making the characters and settings feel tangible.

The story itself was inherently interesting, but his masterful delivery transformed it into an immersive experience. By listening attentively, I was able to fully appreciate the humour and charm of the piece. It was a thoroughly enjoyable session that highlighted the beauty of oral storytelling.

Learning Beyond Words: A Day of Inspiration and Growth - Sunbeam School Ballia

Jai Hind, dear readers

Today’s Good School Alliance session, conducted by Jugjiv Sir and Manisha Ma’am, was truly enlightening and inspiring. Jugjiv Sir read and explained the story “The Door-to-Door Bookstore” in a very expressive and engaging manner. The story beautifully conveyed the power of reading and how books can shape our imagination and personality.

The story revolves around Carl Konrad Koreander, a passionate bookstore owner, whose shop is filled with rare and magical books. One day, a young boy named Bastian visits his store and discovers that books are not just pages with words, but gateways to imagination, wisdom, and self-discovery. Through their interaction, the story highlights how reading can open our minds, deepen our understanding, and make us see the world differently.

Throughout the session, Sir guided us in learning the correct pronunciation and meanings of several difficult words. This helped improve our reading fluency and vocabulary. The interactive discussion and thoughtful questions encouraged us to think critically and share our interpretations, which made the session both educational and enjoyable.

From this experience, I understood that regular reading not only enhances our language skills but also strengthens our concentration, creativity, and empathy. Books truly are our best companions, helping us learn, grow, and dream beyond boundaries.

In conclusion, today’s session was deeply motivating, informative, and memorable. It has inspired me to make reading a daily habit and to explore more meaningful stories that enrich both mind and heart.

Reflection on today's session✨

Today's session was very inspiring and knowledgeable for everyone. In the first session, Jugiv Singh sir had read a book named "The Book To Book Store" in which we have learnt a lot of new words, and also this improved my vocabulary and some English.

In the second session we were having Manisha Khanna ma'am who told us about the "Ruskin Bond" story and the story name was  "char pankhudiyan" and also at the beginning of the story we played a short quiz about Ruskin Bond in the quiz she asked us some unique things about Ruskin Bond life and asked the questions related to that and the story was about four friends. At last, Sandeep sir told us very nice and good things, and also motivated us to move forward in our lives. I am really thankful to have this opportunity to have such a great platform for learning new things, to have motivation from all the members of My Good School ๐ŸŒบ.

Today’s Good School Session✨

Today's session was truly inspiring and informative. In the first session with Jugjiv Sir, we learned how to pronounce words correctly and use punctuation marks effectively through reading reflections and the book “The Door to Door Bookstore.” This activity significantly improved my vocabulary and communication skills.

The second session with Manisha Ma’am was equally enriching. She read us the story “เคšाเคฐ เคชंเค–ुเคก़िเคฏां” (Four Petals) written by Ruskin Bond. The story revolved around four friends who were mistaken for kidnappers while trying to care for a small child. We also enjoyed an engaging quiz that deepened our understanding of Ruskin Bond’s works. The session was truly interactive and fun.

One key takeaway that resonated with me was the importance of avoiding impulsive decisions, especially when we are emotional. This valuable lesson has left a lasting impact, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to learn.๐ŸŒธ

Thank you, Manisha Ma’am and Jugjiv Sir, for such a thought-provoking session.๐Ÿ’ซ

Reading - a skill that needs rebirth! - Shilpika Pandey

Those who read, read fluently, write well, and speak well!

Reading is one of the best activities to keep your mind focused, enhance your vocabulary,
improve pronunciation and inculcate the habit of making reading an essential part of one's regimen.

Reading is a catalyst for an intellectual, thinking mind that sharpens analyzing and brainstorming skills. An old-school activity that is irreplaceable and much needed for our students to keep them away from the hovering world of social media and make them add to their wisdom, knowledge and a composed lifestyle.

When an individual picks up a book to read, he or she unfolds a lesson to remember and change the mindset, thus changing life for the better. Reading helps build conversations, and meaningful conversations take place. So keep reading!
