Our young learners shared their reflections and understanding from Episode 22 – "Allegory: The Tapestry of Guru Nanak's Travels." Through this episode, students explored the inspiring journeys of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and discovered the deeper meanings behind his teachings of unity, compassion, and selfless service. Their insights beautifully capture how timeless wisdom continues to guide us even today.

Summary:

प्रवास (क़ियाम) एक 24 कड़ियों वाली धारावाहिक डॉक्यूमेंट्री श्रृंखला है, जिसका शीर्षक “रूपक, गुरु नानक के कदमों की रुहानी छाप” है। यह श्रृंखला गुरु नानक के जीवन और उनकी यात्रा की गाथा को क्रमिक रूप से दर्शाती है, जिससे उनके गहरे और सार्वभौमिक संदेशों को समझा जा सके। गुरु नानक, जो एक परोपकारी मुसाफ़िर थे, बारह साल की लंबी दूरी की यात्रा के बाद अपनी पांच नदियों की भूमि (पंजाब) में लौटते हैं, जहां से वे फिर अगली यात्रा शुरू करते हैं। इस श्रृंखला को नौ देशों में 150 से अधिक बहु-विश्वास स्थलों पर फिल्माया गया है, जो उनकी विचारधारा और उनके संवादों की व्यापकता को दर्शाता है। इस प्रयास का उद्देश्य गुरु नानक के आदर्शों को विश्व के सामने उजागर करना और उनके संदेशों के महत्व को समझाना है।

Parvaas (Sojourn): After 12 years, the altruistic traveller Guru Nanak returns to his native land of the five rivers to embark on another odyssey.  

“Allegory - A Tapestry of Guru Nanak's Travels”, a 24-episode docuseries, sequentially explores Guru Nanak's life events to unfurl the deep import of his messages. This docuseries is filmed at over 150 multifaith sites in 9 countries. Reflective questions:

1. What messages from Guru Nanak's twelve-year journey are still relevant and inspiring for today's society?
   गुरु नानक की बारह साल लंबी यात्रा के कौन से संदेश आज के समाज के लिए प्रासंगिक और प्रेरणादायक हैं?

2. What is the significance of showcasing Guru Nanak's travels to multi-faith sites, and how does it promote social harmony today?
   गुरु नानक की बहु-विश्वास स्थलों की यात्राओं को दर्शाने का क्या महत्व है, और यह आज सामाजिक सद्भाव को कैसे बढ़ावा देता है?

3. How can we incorporate Guru Nanak's values of altruism and spirituality into our own lives?

4. What lessons can we learn from the series "Rupak, Guru Nanak's Spiritual Footprints" that help us become better individuals?

Spirituality- Prapti Rai

Spirituality, to me, embodies the exploration of the deeper dimensions of existence beyond the confines of the physical world. It's about seeking a connection with something greater than ourselves, whether it's through religious practices, meditation, nature, or acts of compassion and kindness.

Modern spirituality centres on the "deepest values and meanings by which people live".It often embraces the idea of an ultimate or an alleged immaterial reality. It envisions an inner path enabling a person to discover the essence of his or her being.

Not all modern notions of spirituality embrace transcendental ideas. Secular spirituality emphasizes humanistic ideas on moral character- qualities such as love, compassion, patience, tolerance, forgiveness, contentment, responsibility, harmony, and concern for others.

These aspects of life and human experience go beyond a purely materialist view of the world without necessarily accepting belief in a supernatural reality or any divine being. However, Guru Nanak's documentaries likely portray spirituality as a universal quest for meaning and transcendence, showcasing diverse perspectives and practices from around the globe.

Through storytelling and insights from various cultures and traditions, these documentaries likely illuminate the common threads that unite us in our search for purpose and understanding in the vast tapestry of existence.

About adopted child Avnish, the 9-year-old child who sealed Everest base camp and got prepared mentally and physically for the trek to change the mindset of a unique, abled child.

The lady with humble circumstances, known as Pemila Atkinson, devoted herself to serving the poor and learned how crucial volunteering is to the program. Her quote motivates me: "We should look for opportunities to make a difference in other people's lives, which makes a difference in our own because we all are connected to these lives." She didn't show any signs of slowness even in her retirement year.

From these videos, we could see their purpose in life and also their self-esteem, which is positive for our mental health and growth.

Spirituality - Rishona Chopra

Spirituality is not about praying to God or meditation. It is about the values we inculcate in ourselves. Humility, Hope, Love, Happiness, and all other values. It is being free from all clutter and learning to control our minds. 

Spirituality is also about connecting to God, not through prayers but through our minds, talking to them as if they were our parents, our closest friends who wouldn't reveal our secrets to anyone. Whenever I am worried about a test or upset or angry, I try to talk to God by just speaking out all my feelings in my mind. You don't need to go to a temple or even pray.

Leave this chanting and singing and telling of beads!
Whom dost thou worship in this lonely dark corner of a temple with shut doors?
Open thine eyes and see thy God is not before thee!
He is there where the tiller is tilling the hard ground, and the path maker is breaking stones.
He is with them in the sun and in the shower,
and his garment is covered with dust.
Put off thy holy mantle and, like him, come down on the dusty soil!
Deliverance?
