Handling Pressure - Anusha Jain
Anusha Jain, IX, Ahlcon Public School I am very fond of reading, and Harry Potter is my favourite series. |
HANDLING PRESSURE
It’s no pressure. It’s a responsibility we put it on ourselves
-Abby Wambach
Wambach’s quote describes pressure in my life. My parents are very understanding and supportive. They never forced me to score good marks or burn myself for winning. But, I always tried to excel and made them proud. If I failed, which I did many times, I would get upset. I don’t remember that my parents ever hit or scolded me for not securing full marks. ‘‘Better luck next time!’’ they would say.
For instance, even after working very hard, I had done terribly wrong in an exam. I cried and was disappointed. My mother gave me her comforting smile and encouraged me to try next time. This has taught me that if we don’t put unnecessaPressureure on children, they will take responsibility and give their best.
Autobiography of a school bus - Rishona Chopra
I am a bus. A school bus, to be precise. Unfortunately, I can not remember much. You see, I had gone through several surgeries, and that is why I don’t know much. Some think that I had gone through so many surgeries because of my carelessness. I assure you that my surgeries happened because of the selfish plans of some people. They wanted to make me beautiful and comfortable for them! They did not think about me at all. Now, you must be thinking, why didn’t I shout for help? I did call for help, but those selfish creatures did not listen to me.
Before my surgery, I called … Van. Then I was called Bus and then finally I was called a school bus. Despite all the pain I went through, I like only one thing. I want to meet children. Many children come and sit on me, and I love talking to them. They hate wearing my friend Seatbelt, but what can I do? Those cute little faces bring a smile to my face. That is indeed the best part of my job.

Courage - Vinki Srivastava

Vinki Shrivastava, VI,
Ahlcon Public School
Courage is an innate superpower that lives
inside us and that feeds on "I can and I will ". We are born out of
courage. All throughout our lives, we are led to believe how certain things are
made or work.
Ahlcon Public School
People believe women are weak and
vulnerable. Women also start thinking that they are soft and tolerate a
lot. But one day, when a woman stands up for herself and says it loud and clear that
'No, I am not weak'. It's the hidden power of courage inside her, which wakes her up, and she believes that she can and she will.
We all take birth, but we are born as humans the day we show courage to change the world.
I like to read quotes of great leaders as it gives shape to my thoughts. I have fun playing games from Skating and Swimming to Hopscotch and Ludo as they are full of fun. I think little things in life give us the most joy. I also love learning about computer languages. Acting is my goal.

Determination - Anvesha Rana
"Victory is always possible for the person who refuses to stop fighting."
Life is about success, failure and more success. The key to facing all of it is the determination to rise after one falls and start right from square one. We may receive awards or we may not, but definitely at some point in life we will receive failure and when we do, we all should remember to embrace it. Failure is not the opposite of success, it is a part of success. Only after you fail, you succeed and only after you succeed, you fail but what matters most is that you continue your quest of accomplishing your dreams. 50 years down the lane you will be more disappointed about the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do and when you start fulfilling your ambitions, you may even realize that life is too short for everything.

What do cows think? - Rishona Chopra
While delivering milk, their children are taken away from them, so they can't drink it as we selfish humans need it! Cows think about having lots of fun with their children without restrictions. They wish to dance and play with them like any parent.
Cows would love to have lots of food. Although they can eat little food for a longer time, they would like to have more if they don't get food to eat the other day! When people hit them to get milk, they obviously feel hurt and want to hit them back. They think about taking revenge on them and going out of the shed and being free, having freedom.
We humans talk about having freedom, but we don't realize how we take others (animals) liberty away.

Interview with an elephant - Rishona Chopra
Hi! Today I am going to be interviewing Ms Cloud. Let’s all welcome her with a round of applause.
Mrs Cloud: Thank you, but just a small thing, my name is not Cloud. In fact, it’s Ms. Elephant.
Interviewer: Oh! I am so sorry. So let us welcome Ms Elephant. So Ms Elephant, please tell us your journey to become a cloud.
Mrs Elephant: I was an elephant at first. I was living my life happily. I loved to dance, and I still do, but then the poachers, those evil mindless creatures…killed me. I was a perfect soul, and as I entered heaven, I always had this divine light surrounding me, and you can see I still have that light. So I remain in the sky, which is heaven, but for humans, the sky and I keep roaming around there having fun without any poachers to disturb me.
Interviewer: That is an interesting story, and those poachers who hurt you are indeed mindless creatures. Moving on to the next question, do you like being a cloud?
Mrs Elephant: Oh yes! I love being there. I get to meet so many elephants and animals and even humans. The only bad part is that when thunderstorms come, those spirits who have done sins come, and they are so dark in colour! They look scary.
Interviewer: I can imagine. The last question is would you like to continue being a cloud or be an elephant on Earth.
Mrs Elephant: I am in two minds about this. Being a cloud, you are mostly safe, with no poachers around, but if you are unlucky, you might crash into an aeroplane! On the other hand, on Earth, you get to see and feel nature in an entirely different way, and you can bathe in rivers and have fun with other animals in a pretty different way. So I am not so sure.
Interviewer: It’s good that you know the advantages and disadvantages of both places. That was a fantastic interview. Also, it must be telling the poachers something that people have become clouds because of them!!
