Never give up hope - Aanya Kumar

We, as humans, have been given hope for innovation. As creatures on this planet, we have been given hope of survival. But, we tend to lose hope many times. Jodi Miller was diagnosed with seizures when she was only three years old.

The only cure for stopping this was removing half of her brain. Miller's parents could have given up... But they didn't. They chose to go to Dr Ben Carson. He made them understand that removing half of the brain has disadvantages, but it was the only solution.

Miller's parents thought to not give hope and help their child in some way than letting her have paralysis or seizures either. Soon Miller was ready to start over again. Miller aced in school and became very successful.

Just like Jodi's parents, we should not give up hope.

Be a Dreamer - Shambhavi Nautiyal

Shambhavi Nautiyal, VII-D, Ahlcon Public School
I am a keen story writer and reader. I try to learn as much as I can and remember those stories to rejuvenate myself and not lose hope in the end. I am a big fan of K-pop as the music soothes my soul and makes me feel effervescent. The 17th-century films helped me learn values and set my beliefs.

Reflecting on Chapter 7, Be a Dreamer from the book Is Your Child Ready To Face The World? by Dr Anupam Sibal.

I read the chapter ‘Be a Dreamer’ from the book ‘Is your Child Ready to Face the World?’ and it said that Dr Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream for his nation to be racially equal, and so I thought that I too must have a dream and ambition for my nation. Hence, I have come up with postulation of our country with an optimistic motive.

My dream for India in 2040 is that we would be free from illiteracy, poverty and unemployment. I hope we shall benefit from all the schemes and programmes our government has launched. The international organizations we have joined, such as the United Nations, are supposed to improve our country’s economic and environmental state. Through this drawing (below), I envision India’s technology and environment both to become stable and sustainable. Nowadays, it’s difficult for technology to be efficient and at the same time harmless for the environment. I also ideate that the youth who go through education, designed according to the national education policy, will help us solve the problem. This drawing shows the time when we’d be thanking our government for forming the new NEP 2020 and joining the United Nations for the Sustainable Development Goals, as the outcomes would be drastic. This will change our youth’s lives a lot.

Self Confidence and Hope - Ananya Bhatia

My Name is Ananya Bhatia.
I study in Ahlcon Public school in class 9th. I like reading books.

Self Confidence and Hope

Self Confidence is an essential part of our life. Everyone has their own challenges and difficulties. Students, for example, are often compared with their friends, relatives, neighbours etc. This comparison is limited to academics and often extends to other fields like sports, public Speaking, Extra curriculum etc. In these situations, they really need self-confidence.

They must also know that they are on the right path and should not give up hope. I feel that self-confidence and hope can co-relate. If we have the self-confidence to move on the right track, the results will also come, but only if we don’t give up hope. Another way around is if we give up hope, our self-confidence will fall.

Thank you.

Never Give Up Hope - Anvesha Rana

"Hope is the last thing ever lost."

Life is a unique journey filled with twists and turns, preaching and learning, hardships and mirth but the thing that remains constant in life is that we keep moving forward. In order to remain balanced on a cycle it is essential to continue pedaling, but how do we move on if all our energy has been already drained ? How do we overcome problems and welcome a new phase ? Sometimes in life we may feel dejected, we may feel as if we have lost a battle but it is in these dark moments that the mind unravels, turns the pages and creates a new future all because of hope. There is no medicine or tonic as powerful as hope. Hope is trust mixed with love and faith, along with belief. Hope can make someone live again, it can teach someone to smile again and it can inspire someone to be good again.

Our history is a witness of people who demonstrated extraordinary hope. Professor Stephen Hawking is a name that demands not only appreciation but immense respect for achieving the impossible when all the odds were not in favor. Other people who taught us to be the same whether God is with us or not are Lorenzo, Augusto and Michaela Odone. They sent the message out loud that parents of children with ALD should not give up hope and expect their child to die, instead they should find ways to stop the spread of this fatal disease. Another girl Jody Miller suffered from RE, her only treatment was a radical surgery that involved removing half the brain. Her parents understood the need but they thrusted in all their efforts to make the surgery as safe as possible, today Jody is a school teacher and lives a wonderful life.

When we look at children suffering from rare diseases, we see that each day is a torture, each injection is pain and every hospital looks no different than death yet these young kids put on a brave face and smile, yet they seek the day when they will recover and yet they wait for the moment when they will also be able to do things normally. When such kids can understand the meaning of life, when they can keep hope and anticipate a fun day, why can't we ?

Life - Rishona Chopra

Life

Life is a dream,

It flows as fast as a stream.
We must decide our aim,

Life is like a game.

You shall face obstacles,

But you have to be the constable,

Face your struggles like a warrior,

Who wants to cross the barrier.

Just have a little courage,

And never be discouraged.

Have hope,

And you’ll be able to climb life’s tough slope!

Never Give Up Hope - Rishona Chopra

Based on the reading of the chapter Never Give Up hope from Dr Anupam Sibal's book Is Your Child Ready To Face The World?

As told in the previous chapter,' Making Others Happy' is the biggest key to 'hope'.

We all should have hope, especially in tough times. Having hope means that it isn't the end. Whenever we are in a tough spot, we should think of possibilities instead of having negative thoughts and thinking of good options is having hope, and we should never give up hope.

Having lost hope is like giving up on a complicated thing that could change the world.

" Hope is the one thing that can help us get through the darkest of times."

Freedom - Aayan Biswas

Aayan Biswas, VI-B, Ahlcon Public School
I have a hobby of reading books on fiction and mystical lands. I write stories and poems as I find writing the best way to express my feelings and tell people what I think. I really enjoy writing and reading as it is delightful.

Freedom

He committed a crime and had paid a fine,

I went to jail and waited for bail.

He drove cars and ate a chocolate bar,

I trotted all day; even my birthday passed away.

He ate burgers and French fries,

I had eaten some bread and plain rice.

He had friends and family,

While I had no one beside me.

Framed me for a crime that he had done,

They didn’t let me say a word, not even one!

As I rotted in a black box,

He went hiking and climbed rocks.

I had soon lost all hope and might,

My life was all black and not a spot of white.

Suddenly, I saw a beautiful sight.

Justice was served, right and well,

I was freed, and he was confined.

Everything had changed after such a long time,

It felt as it was the first time the sun had shone!

Patience - Rishona Chopra

Patience it's just a word, right? It simply means to wait without being annoyed. That's easy. But then imagine you waiting for a printout for your school project, and the printer just isn't working! That is so annoying! You keep getting annoyed, and instead of waiting till the paper comes out, you keep restarting it again and again. If you do that, the printer would be annoyed too and would ultimately stop working or work even slower.

On the other hand, if you wait patiently for the paper to come out, then it could. Although having patience is annoying, it is necessary as you might get into a fight with someone too! Like you got a battle with the printer in the above example.

For me, having patience is a bit difficult. Like when I complete something in class that the other students have not finished yet. It is a little difficult to wait for others to complete it. But I am working on that.

Patience is a bit difficult but necessary!

Making others Happy - Shirin Kaw

Shirin Kaw, 8E, Ahlcon Public School

I am very passionate about writing stories and poems of what I imagine. Writing various stories and poems helps me express my thoughts on a piece of paper. It gives me a sense of calmness to my body and allows me to spend my free time productively. I also read many stories; I mainly enjoy fictional stories as I love imagination and creativity.

Making Others Happy -
Feeling good after doing a good deed,
Making one smile, the beatitude I perceive
Sunshine thrives over all the obstacles I face

A second doesn't go by without thinking that face.
It must have been a rough day, dealing with the strain
A soul comes and hugs you,
Makes your day an enchanting bouquet.

Take a minute of your life,
There is something to redo,
Make someone blush, and don't forget yourself too.

Never Giving Up Hope - Yashraj Sharma

“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope”. - Martin Luther King Jr.

Hope. What is hope? How should we not lose hope? Why are we told to never give up hope?

The answer is simple: hope is a feeling or a presence of mind in which you are still firm in doing a task despite constant failures. If we have hope, the sense of continuous determination stays alive.

For example- If, unfortunately, a person gets infected by an illness, they should not lose hope because, as per psychological research, when a patient is given medicine, if they have a gloomy and negative mindset, the therapy is less likely to be effective than it is supposed to.

Hope keeps us optimistic and gives us the willpower to do our best even in hard times, and also, if we are full of hope, it helps us remain committed to our work and our goals and motivated to take action towards achieving. Hope gives people to be consistent in their work with zeal and enthusiasm.

So, in the end, I would like to say that hope should not be just a feeling that we’d experience in a problematic situation. Instead, it should be a presence of mind that we stay in throughout any situation, be it cool or calm to very challenging.
