Amateur Drama - Rishona Chopra

Presenting a play truly takes effort. After all that practice, you need lots of confidence.

I love acting and trust me, I get really nervous. I tell my parents to sit in a corner if I am acting so they can't see me! After the show, I am really confident and happy. The most embarrassing (well, sort of) role was when I had to act as a man. I didn't like the part, but I did like it a little - It was a mix of feelings. There was also this role I loved- When I had to do the voicing of Dorothy. I liked it, but I was so nervous that I had to practice after school too!

The audition is the worst part - You have to perform in front of students from other classes, and then you don't know whether you will be selected. At some point, I wish I were selected and then feel I wish I wasn't!

Totto-chan was very sure about what she wanted; her path was clear in front of her. I wish I were like her - having the courage to decide on a play herself. I just wish I could see her play!

A play, a show
It's something that slowly grows.
A little confidence,
Each character has to have a difference.
Something unique,
Maybe antique
The twist in the script,
Perhaps as old as a manuscript!
The acting,
And all the running!
The effort counts,
And the fun spreads all around!

Don't know what to write - Rishona Chopra

I simply can't understand what to write,
But I want to write as it gives me delight.
It's six in the morning,
And all plants are flowering,
And sitting in nature, I want to write,
Something or the other, something right.
Writing just means to write whatever comes to your mind,
That feeling you just have to find!
So, here I am writing about something that came to my mind.
Still thinking of a topic I should be assigned.
And now that I wrote this,
I know what to write, and that's bliss.
I got another topic in my mind,
That I won't tell now, maybe another time.

My Ambition - Yashraj Sharma

People always call me a curious boy

Who is interested in asking why

And due to my why, I may

Become a famous guy.

With some surprising ambition

To become a scientist.

I want to know why wood should float

And why lead and marble sink

Why does the wind blow

And why do we all eat and drink?

I want to know what makes clouds

And why they snake across the sky

Why does the Sun set behind the hill

And why do all flowers die?

I want to know why fish have gills.

And why the Earth has hills?

Why can boys not fly?

And why does rain fall from the sky?

I want to know why charcoal gives smoke.

And it's not the same for stones.

Some of my why's are not hard to answer.

If you will try, but no one ever yet

Has found the reason for my ambition-

Why?

The Lost Resource - Rishona Chopra

🌏

It's July 28 today - we've just crossed into the second half of the year, but we have used up our allowance of natural resources for all of 2022.*

Every year, Earth Overshoot Day has been coming sooner and sooner.

This talks about natural resources being used quickly, but shall I tell you one resource we used so much that it is instilled in us? That resource is anger. Don't you think you have used this resource too much in the past few months or forgotten about months? Even in the past week, you might have used it, or even today, one resource we have not touched on is Happiness.

Happiness is a resource in abundance and never ends, you can use it then and now and as long as you live, but for some reason, most of us don't use this resource, which is perhaps the most essential source of life our entire life depends on.

Just like a car needs petroleum to move, our life needs Happiness to work. Today let's select and right down the times when we were truly happy. While remembering that day, let's pray today!

Jealousy- ‘ The necessary evil’ - Gaurangi Rastogi

J-e-a-l-o-u-s-y is the word we experience and notice everything. Elderly people say that Jealousy can ruin everything, and it's true. Jealousy can be good or even harmful. Even when I speak that Jealousy can be beneficial, they ask how. Let me tell you an example of my story.

When I was in grade V, my parents would talk about my cousin, that she is good at that, this... It would make me so sad that I fought with my parents saying I don't have my identity or what. When they said, "Beta! You are more than them; you can achieve anything, so I started working hard towards academics, curricular activities, and sports. After I worked hard on my achievements, nobody told me I was inferior to others. This is the good side; the wrong side is more than the opposite of this example.

If we always get jealous of others, we never achieve the achievements we deserve, like- becoming a vice president of one of your school's leading clubs, the dancer, singer, speaker or anything you say.

Jealousy always made me depressed, aggressive, or emotional. Life has competition, but there is always a competitor with whom you will fight forever, and that's yourself.

A New Day - Anvesha Rana

A New Day is a new beginning,
it's an old ending and
something exciting.

What it holds,
we don't know.
What it shows,
we don't know
For we only know it's a new day,
and it ought to be good.

Bend forward and soak in the sun,
Lay back and let the wind run,
Enjoy the new day
for it is only one.

Look forward to learning more,
Vow yourself to curse less,
Be who you want to be
for a new day is a unique opportunity.

Learn to live,
Learn to love,
Learn to laugh,
For the new day is only
one.

Thank You My Gurus - Gaurangi Rastogi

This story is about my life which took me on a new path of achievement….

Date-1st  April 2017

The day is crucial for me because I joined my school this year. This year was so topsy-turvy as it is difficult to settle without parents.

Life took off like a rocket from that year. My first achievement was to win a merit position in elocutions, quizzes, and co-curricular activities. I never won a single prize at my school in my hometown. Soon after, I met some very good people in my life who gave a kickstart to a better version of myself; guess who they are? They were Sandeep Sir, Sumali Mam, and Abhikshit Sir. Let me tell you why they are my most prominent gurus who gave me a chance to know myself a little more.

  • Sandeep, Sir- He gave me the motivation to work, understand my capabilities, and gave me back my immense passion for Books which I lost for a few years because of a few people who used to tease me and made me so upset that for weeks I started questioning myself that “What is wrong if you focus only on your academics,co-curricular activities or any field?” A big shout out to Sir, saying

Thank You, Sir, for the opportunity to help me learn the skill of writing!

  • Sumali Ma’am- Ma’am, you always gave me opportunities to polish my skills which I  never realized. You helped me to understand the language of Shakespeare. In the competition, I didn’t win anything, but you gave me the prize I craved for the feedback on my performance.

  • Abhikshit Sir- He is the physics teacher in our class. My classmates and I were stressed about the physics exam because we didn’t understand the numerical when Sir called us during our prep and made us understand everything. He always had my back whenever I was under stress or under too much pressure. Thank you, Sir.

These teachers were my back for all these years full of learning, friendship, trust, and integrity…

A Big Shout to all of you

Thank You For Becoming my support system…
