The greatest gift - Rishona Chopra


The greatest gift we want to give to our loved ones every day, at every moment, is happiness. We spend time with them, buy them physical comforts, and support them, yet they are sometimes unhappy. Most likely, it is because we are unhappy. Happiness is energy, not matter. Just by being happy ourselves and being happy while discharging our responsibilities, our happy vibrations radiate and trigger the happiness frequency in our loved ones and uplift their state of mind to happiness.

Have you sensed that you need to make much more effort in sustaining your roles and responsibilities if your mind is unhappy? Despite your extra steps to care for and provide for them, are your family and friends unhappy with you? Does it leave you wondering what more you should have done? We often quantify our efforts and measure our loved ones’ happiness against it. The truth is, how much we do for people doesn’t matter. What matters is how happy we were while doing everything.

While caring for people or doing something for them, let us not create thoughts of stress, fear, anxiety, anger or pain. Otherwise, our negativity is sure to deplete people we do so much for, not allowing them to be happy with us. Without being happy, you cannot give happiness to others. Be happy and do everything that you need to do. It’s your energy which influences their happiness.

Remind yourself – “I am an embodiment of happiness. Being happy myself and taking care of people keeps my loved ones happy.” When you experience unconditional happiness, you have nothing but happiness to give everyone. You don’t even have to offer; it automatically radiates. From today, let bliss be your natural way of living. Let nothing and no one pull you down. In every scene, contribute towards creating a happy family, workplace and world by always being happy.

My Little Sin - Vani Pandey

I woke up at five to see,

A little flower waiting for me. 

Just outside my room's window,

On a quiet tall, and bushy willow.

It danced along the breeze happily,

As if asking me to join too!

So I stretched my arms to get it in,

Oh god, but I wish I knew!

That it would turn out to be a sin.

I brought the flower inside,

And asked it to dance with me.

But it just said nothing rather sighed,

Thinking it was tiring, I let it be.

The next morning I visited it again,

Just to find it dying in pain.

"Oh, poor flower, how should I save you. How should I dance just the wanted me to?"

But it said just said nothing,

For its breath had been taken away.

I woke up at five just to see,

A little dead flower who died for me.

Gratitude - Arfa Khan

We all are familiar with the feeling that life is not as we want; our relationships are not deep enough, we are not successful enough, and we don't have the things we crave. This is the feeling of dissatisfaction, a feeling that makes you at others with envy and at yourself with shame. Social media makes it worse by showing us the picture-perfect life others have, unlike us. We have seen many people laughing and enjoying their lives...but their lives aren't perfect too. Then why are some people happier than others? Can we also apply their methods to be more comfortable and more satisfied? It all sums up to one thing - Gratitude. 

Gratitude is a feeling that connects us with the positive side of the world. There are many ways to practice it, like gratitude journaling, where we write about the things we are grateful for. There are many everyday things in life for which we should be grateful, and we might be taking them for granted, like:

  1. Recovery/ Post-Crisis -

Life can feel fabulous after recovery like an enormous burden has been lifted off our shoulders. We can do many things that we couldn't do earlier. Objectively, our life would be the same or maybe slightly worse than before, but we compare the present to when life was terrible and react with gratitude.


  1. Our Relationships-

We might feel lonely or want more friends, but there might be one or multiple people wanting to spend time with us. We might feel this is not enough and feel bad. If we're grateful for our relationships, we might accept the offers or take the initiative. Many people don't have anyone and suffer from mental illnesses, but we have many people who care for us.


  1. Anyone who means a lot to you-

There might be someone significant in our lives, and we can't imagine life without them. By comparing our life with and without them, we feel grateful that they are with us.


  1. Fate-

We have many things in our everyday life many don't have, like clean water and food, money, access to the internet, limbs, eyes, ears etc. We should be grateful for these things.  


Scientists have found many benefits of gratitude journaling. Many participants showed more happiness and life satisfaction after practising for a few weeks and even a change in brain activity after a few months. It's pretty mind-blowing that something as simple as writing about a few things you are grateful for can help fight dissatisfaction. We know our life is hard, but it might not be as bad as it seems if we look from a different perspective.

A Dilemma - Reveda Bhatt

"…wondering whether I wait to live or if waiting is also living;" - From 'Extinctions' by Sharmistha Mohanty.

Due to the greed pertaining in humans, which doesn't seem to have an end, every moment of our lives is spent waiting for something from our to-do list. Some people are lucky enough to get what they want while waiting for theirs, and some do not understand that what they lost for what they wanted was what could have been gained.

In life, some of us just fix a pinpoint around our life circles wherein instead of living freely, we tie ourselves onto a mystical bull's eye, which we aren't even sure about. We, people, save money for our future or future generations, dragging ourselves into a so-charming-as-seen-superficial bond which limits our life, wings, and flight.

Now, realizing what we are doing with our lives raises a dilemma: whether to wait to live or to live! Taking a step towards waiting to live, the thought popping into our mind is the worry about whether the next generation would be much self-obsessed to even pay us back for the time we spent establishing a bright future for them. Believing they won't, we reframe our step back towards the initial position and then towards living, when we tend to wonder what if our next generation will not be able to get all the best things in life just because of our one stupidity to live freely and fully. That is how few moments of
our lives slip off our hands just like that, waiting for another.

The fact that we limit ourselves in this materialistic world when we can grow out of it really makes me wonder why we want such pleasures? It's not that I am saying let go of them. No! We also need them for our living, but picking out for them in excess is bad. It shouldn't ever be like you are stealing someone's right. All I am saying is that what gets sowed here on this planet, ultimately, wilts.

We get decayed in the same soil where we used to play, blow away in the same air that we
used to breathe, flow out in the same water that we used to swim in and get ash-ed up in
the same fire that once used to give us warmth.

In the past few years, I've learnt that by waiting for something else to come in, we make something go out, out of our mind, out of our soul, out of our body and lives. Halting for a moment to catch on, we lose another. People come, people, go, and moments come, moments go, although once the present is gone, it never comes back but haunts you as your past, a past that could have been better.

So, what I've been doing since those years after realizing that waiting is also living, is- "Forget the past, live in the present and think of the future."

Future, too, sometimes, but not always.

Who am I? Reveda

Well, you knew that.

But seriously, if you think you know who I am, just read forward and believe me, in the end, you wouldn’t be sure.

Okay, let’s talk about the ME in your perspective.


To those who think I am very sweet and all that, see, you’ve never seen my darker side.

To those who think I am the one who always wilts the corner of her lip, being sad, well, maybe you didn’t give me a chance to smile.

To those who think I’m the obedient one, sorry but you’ve not seen my mischiefs.

To those who think I’m as hard as a rock, maybe you’ve never seen me break down.


So, all I am saying is DON’T CREATE AN OPINION ABOUT ME because I’m not the bird who’ll be happy and fulfilling in that particular cage of yours, I am the one which flies high in the limitless sky owing no boundaries. Either way, if I come out of that cage, which I will, it’ll hurt you and make you think, reframing-believe, that what you knew was only a bit of my soul. Please know that if I’m acting distinctly with you than before, it’s not because of the change in my nature but because of the change in yours. Maybe there’s something in you that made me change, change as in care a little less or not care at all. 


If you don’t like the way I am,

I don’t give a damn.

If I like myself,

You are no one in the heck to change me,

In fact, you can’t even try to.


If you like the way I am,

Please stop yourself from that,

Because when I change my colour, I don’t want anyone to tell me that it was better before.


It’s my life, so if you want to come into it in the dark, keep in mind that the torch is in my hand and you are nobody to turn it around or switch it off!

The Story of A Spider - Diva Gupta

Greetings! Oh! I didn’t mean to scare you! I am a spider. I move from house to house, trying to build my web in a fixed location but these humans obliterate me. They wreck my home every time! 

I made a beautiful web once, attractive enough to win an a award. But then this human came and swiped it away with a broom like it was nothing! She almost killed me as I was sitting peacefully in my silk web. I swung on my silk thread to an open window and escaped. But not everyone is so destructive and mean. 

Most people are afraid of me. They think I am disgusting and throw me away like I’m some sort of trash. But no matter what they say, I’m living too! I have feelings, just like any other living being. I don’t know why they think my appearance is scary or why they run away when they see me in my comfortable silk web

दोस्ती और परिवार - रिशोना चोपड़ा

जब हम किसी से मिलते हैं तो अनजाने में हम लोगों को हमसे दूर धकेल देते हैं, भले ही हम उन्हें लंबे समय से जानते हों। मैंने इस तरह की परिस्थितियों का सामना किया है। हम सभी को एक ऐसा दोस्त चाहिए जो हमारे लिए संपूर्ण हो और किसी का दोस्त न हो। हम अक्सर उनके पीछे भागते हैं जो हमें नहीं चाहते लेकिन उन्हें भूल जाते हैं जो हमारे साथ रहना चाहते हैं। मेरा मतलब वह दोस्त है जो हमारा दोस्त बनना चाहता है; हमारे माता-पिता और भगवान हमेशा साथ हैं, और उनके पीछे भागने वाला कोई नहीं है।

इस दुनिया में हम अजनबियों और परिवार के बाहर के लोगों को ज्यादा मानने लगते हैं और परिवार में दोस्ती की उपेक्षा करने लगते हैं।

मित्रता - यशराज शर्मा


किसी ने सही कहा है कि सच्चे दोस्त वे होते हैं जो आपके साथ बुरी और अच्छी परिस्तिथियों में खड़े रहे और आपके जीवन के हर मोड़ हर कदम पर आपकी सहायता करते हैं l 

हमारे जीवन में हमारे कई मित्र होते है और आगे भी होंगे। कुछ बहुत सहायता करने वाले या कुछ जिनको ज्यादा करना अच्छा नहीं लगता। लेकिन हमारे जीवन में जब भी कोई एक अच्छा, विश्वसनीय मित्र मिले तो हमे उसका भी आदर करना चाहिए जिससे हम भी उससे कुछ सीख पाए और अच्छे संबंध रख पाएँ, यह सब बाते लिख कर मेरे मन में मुझे अपने एक बहुत पुराने दोस्त की याद आई उसका नाम है आयुतांश। आपको उसके बारे में थोड़ा कुछ बताता हूँ ।

 

जब मैं कक्षा ३ में था तब मैने ज्ञानश्री में दाखिला लिया था। मुझे याद है मेरी कक्षा थी '३ स'l  एक दिन मैं स्कूल के मैदान में फुटबॉल खेल रहा था जब मेरा पैर मुड़ गया और मैं ज़मीन पर गिर कर गुलाटी मार गया। तब वो मेरे पास आया और मुझे उठाने के लिए हाथ बढ़ाया , मैं उसकी सहायता से उठा और हम दोनों उस क्षण से बहुत अच्छे मित्र बन गए । तबसे हम हमेशा साथ में फुटबॉल खेलते थे और हमेशा एक ही टीम में होते,हम दोनों एक दूसरे की गृहकार्य में भी मदद किया करते थे, वे हमारे लिए बहुत मज़े से भरा समय हुआ करता था। 


लेकिन जब हम छट्टी कक्षा में पहुँचे , एक दिन उसने मुझे बताया कि उसके पिताजी का जम्मू में तबादला हो गया है और वह अब स्कूल छोड़ कर जम्मू जाएगा। वो दिन हम दोनों के लिए बिलकुल ख़ुशी का दिन नहीं था। उसके जाने के बाद भी हम बहुत समय तक संपर्क में रहे लेकिन अब हम दोनों कई महीनो से बात नहीं हुई है। मुझे कभी कभी उसकी बहुत याद भी आती है। 

काश वो समय वापस आ जाये…और हम फिर सी वही पल जी सकें।

Never Give Up - Rishona Chopra

Nature has a lot to teach us; the spider teaches us to be patient and never give up. See how delicately a spider creates its web? Even despite failures, it is dedicated to making a home for itself. It is our habit to give up on the smallest of things. While playing snakes and ladders, we reach the top but finally get bit by a snake at 99, giving up trying again. When we complete the small things, the big stuff gets completed themselves.  

Have you told someone, or has someone told you – “You have made a particular habit since childhood, and you will never change.” Do you believe it is difficult or impossible to change a habit, especially if it is solid and old? First, we must change our pattern of saying, “I cannot change habits.” Absolutely any unhealthy or uncomfortable habit can be changed. Let’s not say “I have such an old habit of coming late… habit of gossiping… habit of being irritable… habit of skipping breakfast…So I cannot change.” 

Anything we repeatedly do becomes our habit. By avoiding or changing a few times, the old habit is finished. We need to constantly work on it even if we failed earlier. If we give up, it becomes more robust and weakens our willpower. Let’s confront our uncomfortable habits and ask ourselves – “Why should I change this habit? How to change? Do I want to change?” Once our want to change is substantial, changing becomes simple.

Is there anyone we know who has never changed a habit? Pretty sure there can be no one. Each of us has created certain habits and changed them for some reason. The wrong belief that we cannot change habits strengthens negative habits and blocks our transformation. Sit back and check how you control your habits and that your habits no longer hold you. As you check repeatedly and create thoughts of what you want your reality to be your willpower increases. You let go of uncomfortable habits, dependencies and addictions. You will easily be able to choose what stays on your mind. There will be no habit that you cannot change. You can get over deeper addictions, not just small habits like drinking too much tea or coffee or watching TV while eating. You will eventually become who you wish to be.
