Be the change - Yashraj Sharma

People always want change. They say, “I wish I could change this”, or “I wish I could change that, etc. To be honest, even I do think that sometimes. Many great personalities took the first step toward a significant change.

Let me tell you about one of my experiences-

A few years ago, I used to play online games and eventually became quite addicted to them. My society friends started calling me to play with them. Those games distracted me from my studies to quite an extent. When I got some idle time, I used to start playing games.

But after some time, I started noticing that my younger sister also started playing some other games and got addicted to them. I told her to stop playing or at least reduce the time she used to play. She told me that even if I play for hours, why should she stop playing. I felt terrible for her and myself. So, I decided to reduce my gaming time and only play on weekends. I started doing that, and my sister followed too! That day I imbibed two life lessons “Youngsters do indeed learn from elders” and “To be the change I want to see in others.”

In conclusion, as they say, “Charity begins at home”, so we need to take the first step towards making a change…

My life is beautiful - Gratitude!

Gratitude

My life is beautiful because of my connection with God. He probably thought I was a bit stubborn but could quickly learn, so he gave me a happy life with few challenges!

I have much to thank my parents and God for doing so much for me and guiding me in the right direction. Because of that, I am living this beautiful life happily.

My life is beautiful because of the little things. It may be a simple dinner with my family or seeing the flowers in my garden grow that might lift up my spirits. Each new day brings the opportunity to do something different and unique. We all are so trapped in this vicious cycle of work and pressure that we often miss out on those little things that matter the most. It doesn't count whether you can go to your child's graduation ceremony or not, but what makes a difference is if you can guide your child when he is lost in the sea. Little needn't always mean happiness; it might be your breakdown before a big performance or your tears when you recall old friends. I have learned that the little things help us define ourselves, and when we look back on them, they just remind us how truly blessed we are. Enjoy the little things because one day, when we look back, we will realize that they were the big things.

My life is beautiful because of many things. My parents are always loving me and taking care of me. My friends are my companions and never hesitate to help me or share something. My life is beautiful because of my other family, including my grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles. Along with this, the daily everyday items that I own make my life colourful and beautiful.

I have much to thank my family for everything because of what they have done for me. No matter how many ups and downs we have faced, they have always been there for me. Before I make decisions, I go to them for my advice. They have always been there to support me in every step of my life.

I feel blessed to have caring parents that give so much love and think for me all the time. My little sister loves me so much that she only cares for me. I feel like I have the best family. Loving aunts that adore me so much. Grandparents that give me my favourite books all the time. I am fortunate to have a sweet family.

Life is beautiful because of tiny and small things we ignore sometimes. It can be a family dinner or dinner with our friends. It can be a morning breakfast or a delicious lunch. But there is one thing I love to do every day: playing. Though my hobby is sports, I love to play with my friends. All the screen times and quality times with my family is beautiful.

My life is beautiful because of my friends and family, as they have done a lot for me. If they weren't supporting me, I wouldn't have achieved much. I wish my family and close friends live with me for many more years to keep supporting and standing with me.

Friendship - Rananjay Rajput

Friendship is Fun and Glory!

In friendship, there is no thank you, no sorry,

There is only fun and glory.

I called my friend,

And told him to come down,

But he gave me a frown.

Said he was making a video on the new trend!

 I messaged another buddy,

Who I thought was always ready.

I told him to come and play,

He replied that his face had turned grey!

I then ringed my best friend,

 Who used to always study.

But surprisingly he said, “ok I'm ready buddy!”

He asked me, “what are you going to play?”

 I said “football”,

And he said, “sorry it's not my day”.

I was very angry with all my friends.

The inquisitive, the sick and the one who always tries trends,

But tomorrow again, I realized that,

In friendship, there is no thank you, no sorry,

There is only fun and glory!

Dedicated to all my friends!!

Friendship - Bhakti Gupta

"Though miles may lie between us, we are never far apart, for friendship doesn't count miles; it's measured by the heart." – Pratham Bhansali.

I came to Gyanshree School at four in the nursery for the first time. I made a friend whose name is Khwahish. I made more friends, but Khwahish and I shared a special bond. And even now, we do things simultaneously, think the same thoughts, and read each other's minds! But the most important thing is that we both rely on each other and trust each other. We can share all our secrets and never feel insecure about it. We have different likes and dislikes, and we have different opinions, but we don't care for we love each other. From the age of 4 till today, when we have turned 9, we continue to be the best of friends, and I am sure we will always be. I would like to end by sharing a quote on friendship by Helen Keller that applies to our relationship - "True friends are never apart, maybe in the distance but never in heart."

Friendship - Arnav Sharma

“Anything is possible when you have the right people there to support you.”

I, Arnav Sharma, of grade 3, would like to share my personal story about friendship. When I was in Grade 1, one fine day, on reaching the school, I didn’t find a place to sit, and I felt awful and got disheartened. Suddenly, one boy, Rajveer, told me to come and sit with him. I felt good and happy because he was very kind. After that, Rajveer and I became good friends. That day, I realized that ‘A friend in need is a friend indeed.’
I also learnt that we should observe the things and situations around us very carefully because we can help many people around us.
We need to be determined because friendship is fantastic, and our parents and siblings are our best friends.

Fun is learning, learning is fun - Rishona Chopra

Fun is the beginning of anything fundamental. Even the word fundamental has the word fun!

The book states that when we are pushed and taught, we don't really learn anything, but learning becomes more effective and enjoyable when we have fun. As children, we are taught that we should go to school and learn to become something one day. But in my opinion, it is much more than that. We become better humans, we get to know how each thing has its own way of forming,  and the world becomes so much more fascinating!

Not just reading our textbooks and memorizing is learning; it is boring. Suppose you are reading one of the concepts States of Matter, and you are reading about the matter. Then you can think of five-ten things and write them down in which form they are and more factors such as size, shape, mass and colour. This will show the concept in the real world and make learning so much more fun.

My science teacher always tells us to visualize things and draw them. It makes it so much fun, in your science class you can draw several diagrams and learning is fun!

When I revise for my exam, I put all my notes of different subjects in envelopes and send them back to me through the bottom of my room's door. It's like receiving a letter with notes. While revising for my English exam, one of the topics is a formal letter. I wrote a formal letter to the principal, put it in an envelope and acted as if I was the principal!

So there are so many ways in which learning can be super fun!

Leadership - Aria Gupta

Do you know the difference between a leader and a boss? A boss barks at his servants to do work continuously, but a leader encourages his servants to do work and always appreciates his workers. The quality of being a leader is called Leadership.

There are many ways to be a leader and display Leadership, like being the CEO or founder of a company. There are many people to be leaders of, But to earn Leadership, you first need to be the leader of yourself. You need to appreciate yourself and, at the same time, be a little blunt to yourself. You need to change your habits.

Let me tell you about Sahil Lavingia, an entrepreneur of the company Gumroad, Basically the leader. In his book The Minimalist Entrepreneur, He says that when he just created Gumroad, he wanted it to be a billion-dollar company. He says ambition blinded him. He focused on creating a billion-dollar company that he didn’t realize his company was making a profit. He didn’t appreciate what he had. Appreciating is a big part of Leadership. If you can’t appreciate, you will be a boss instead of a leader.

Friendship -Tanvi Kumar

The best gift is to have an honest friend.

Friendship in my life means a person’s trust, love and affection for another person. Friends are our gift from God. Our family, especially, siblings are our best friends. A true friend always helps us without expecting the same from us. Friends accept us as we are; they don’t want to change our nature.

I want to share some experiences with my friends –

·       While I was new to Gyanshree School, I made new friends. They never let me feel new; they always talked to me and made me feel comfortable.

·       When I was in DPS Indra Puram, I had a lot of friends; we visited each other’s house for birthday parties and had a great time.

I want to share a poem –

Friends

Friends are lovely,

Never let us feel lonely,

Sometimes they tell in maths how to solve wisely,

Sometimes they tell the experiment nicely,

Sometimes they tell how to dance,

And always give us their chance,

Because they are friends,

A lot of time with us they spend.

Friendship - Archita Saxena

Friendship is the basic essence of our lives. Friends make our lives better and more magical. I have many friends, but my best friend is my mother.

My mom is kind, cheerful, bright and very creative. She is always there for me, no matter whatever mistake I make. She cooks my favourite food. Once she cooked an egg, put the bread on it and again egg on top of the bread which made it so tasty that I ate entirely even though I had never consumed eggs. She helps me even if she is busy. Every day, she multitasks, like cooking, helping my sister and me, and finishing daily chores simultaneously. I am always surprised how she does that! She prepares food every day and never stops working till all of her work finishes. She is my best friend as I can share anything with her, and she always helps me without me doing something for her because a friend helps their friend without that person doing something for them.

My mom is smart because she helps me in maths and her answer is always correct. She is cheerful by her supportive spirit. She is kind and never stops helping me until I can do any difficult thing. She never stops believing and caring. She is my hero. I am ending my words with this beautiful quote by Bill Watterson: “Things are not too scary when you get a friend.”
