"All people have equal value" - Nishan Karki

Reflection from Sunday School

All lives have equal value. And so you say, 'Why do poor children die when other children don't? Why do some people have enough nutrition or reasonable toilets and other people don't?' So those basic needs that, through innovation, actually it's very affordable to bring them...to everyone.

~Bill Gates

Everyone in the world possesses many values. We, people, are the most intelligent beings created by God. God created us as social beings who can communicate, think, walk, eat, play and work by ourselves. God has provided us with many qualities like humanity, loyalty, kindness, honesty, compassion etc. We can look out for ourselves, do our work independently and do many more things. These qualities that we possess, make us unique, unlike animals and other creatures. They may possess some qualities, but not as many as we possess. Despite differences in region, birthplace, class, financial position, gender, age, caste, language and custom, people have equal values.

We may be rich, middle class or poor, but the value we possess are the same. We should use and show our values at the right time, place and situation. I have an example for this context- "There is a homeless guy, sitting on the side of a street. Two men were walking down the street, one poor and one wealthy. Despite being a wealthy man, he is rude and hard-hearted, unlike the poor, who is kind and generous. The rich man did not give attention to the homeless and walked away. But the poor man, in an instant, saw him and decided to help him. He went to a nearby shop and bought some food. He gave him food and a little money and spent time with him. The homeless guy thanked him. His eyes were all filled with tears."

This example shows that the poor guy has shown his value as a person and helped the homeless guy with some food and money. Thus we should use our values at the right time, place and situation. We should not hesitate to help someone in distress and difficulties because even a small help can change someone's life.

I believe that all lives have equal value. That all men and women are created equal. That everyone belongs. That everyone has rights, and everyone has the right to flourish. I believe that when people who are bound by the rules have no role in shaping the rules, moral blind spots become law, and the powerless bear the burden. ... I believe that entrenched social norms that shift society’s benefits to the powerful and its burdens to the powerless not only hurt the people pushed out but also always hurt the whole.

Being Human - Keyura Rao Cheeti

My school, The Hyderabad Public School Begumpet

Human beings are unique. But what are the qualities that make us so? Our intelligence and qualities, such as kindness, compassion, love, care, and empathy, differentiate us from other living beings.

We can use these qualities to improve the world by improving our and others' lives. We humans also have a responsibility towards Mother Earth. Some of the little things around me that I observed where I feel humanity can be put to use are children in the neighbourhood can learn to be compassionate towards the stray animals, friendly with other children, adults can be empathetic towards the beggars and the poor.

We must let go of our jealousy, pessimism, greed and pride that will stop us from seeing the good in others. We need to set an example for others to learn from us. We need to bring change in the world to make it harmonious for all of us to coexist.

Living in the present, leaving the past in the dust - Rishona Chopra

Life is like a piano. You are the master; you choose the keys and create your own tune. But to make that memorable tune, you must first learn life's chords and rhythm. Understand the essence and be patient; only you can be the master and create a marvellous theme.

It is our world, our decisions and our choices that we have to make. One cannot make a choice for us, but we should always lend an ear to good advice. Life is like an open book. It starts with an introduction followed by the growth of the story and, in the end, a conclusion. Whether we plan to make it a horror, fantasy, comedy, happy, emotional, or any other way is up to us. But we notice in the story that one is never alone; there are a thousand helpers.

The pianist can only make a good tune with the piano's keys, and each key is critical. Do the keys fight with each other? No, they all know they are equally important, and the song is incomplete without any of them. Therefore, we should understand that no one is the best or the worst. No one is any greater or less than us. We are all equal and have nothing to fear. We have our own unique qualities that bring us together.

My Guide - Sunday School 19th March 2023

A good teacher's qualities include communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy and patience. Other characteristics of effective teaching include an engaging classroom presence, value in real-world learning, exchange of best practices and a lifelong love of learning. A teacher's guidebook suggests different methods and techniques for a teacher while teaching in the classroom. It helps the teacher to manage a classroom, identify new approaches in the learning process, select teaching content sequentially, method suitably, materials and learning process appropriately.

In my life, so many people guide me, like my parents, house mother and my friends. Firstly there are my parents who teach me. They tell me not to go down the wrong path and what I should do in my life, and if I do something wrong, they stop me from doing that thing again. After them, my House Mother and friends, my House Mother who always told me to focus on my studies and to work hard and also guided me to stay away from wrong things and then my friends who always scolded me for don't bad things, and I am happy to have them in my life. Before all, we didn't know each other we all were strangers, but now we all stay like a family, and they always guide me for good things. I am lucky to have them in my life.

For me the people who assist me in doing work and activities are my guide.

When I was born my first guide in this world were my parents and then after a few years I was sent to a school which was completely a nightmare for a few days, and then after I started liking to go to school. Then I met many teachers whose teaching was absolutely great and many of them gave me inspiration and motivated me to move forward now I feel like they were my “supporting stick when I was a growing plant". It's true that every start has an ending but it is also true that every ending has a new beginning, I had to say goodbye to all my old teachers but, now I have many new teachers and seniors who guide me.

Here at Pestalozzi, all the staff who contribute their efforts to make me a better version of myself have become my guide. Even Sandeep sir, Jugjiv sir, Shipika ma'am and the students attending Sunday School are now my guide.

The Ultimate Strength Of Human Beings - Oshi Singh

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Newton's third law of physics. Simply put, a good deed done by a good human will eventually return to them. Similarly, an evil act done by anyone will return to him or her. The simple rule of karma is what goes around comes around. Take Ravan from the Ramayana, for example. One wrong decision and we all know how it ended.

In a world as small yet as big as ours, it isn't easy to find people who are always honest and know the importance of Integrity. We all know what these words mean, but most don't practice them. Maybe that is why the world is the way it is. The questions might arise:

Where exactly can you find Integrity? Why are they so important? Are they even different? Why should you be honest? Just keep reading because I promise you will surely learn something new by the end of this article.

I like to believe Integrity lies within, waiting for itself to be found. Although Integrity and honesty are not qualities we have had since birth, we tend to develop them on our journey of life. Those lucky to have the proper upbringing create this early in life, but those who are taught to do things that aren't always morally right usually develop it a little late in life after being deceived or maybe by just finding the right company. You all must think that it is just about upbringing, but there's more to it. It isn't always about upbringing but also about practising it. Some people were on the right path but changed to the wrong one after being deceived or for various other reasons.

Practising these pleasurable qualities is what we lack because many of us are too afraid to speak the truth and wonder why we should get in trouble by telling the truth when dishonesty is shouting to save us. The moment we do this, we lose our honesty and Integrity because Integrity and honesty are qualities that go hand in hand. If you are honest, you sooner or later gain Integrity. There is also a misconception among people that honesty and Integrity mean the same, but that's not true. Honesty means telling the truth to people around us and ourselves, no matter the cost. Integrity means constantly staying on the right path by making the right decisions, like being honest.

According to Socrates ( Greek Philosopher )

"A MAN WHO LIES TO HIMSELF HAS AN ENEMY LIVING WITHIN."

And this is not a person; it is his conscience not guiding him the right and wrong. Even though honesty is essential. We aren't always honest, are we? At some point, we all lie. But there are some exceptional cases when lying isn't bad. Yes, lying can also be good. When you lie you don't hurt someone's feelings. These are white lies. These are lies told with good intentions.

Even though honesty and Integrity are qualities that require a lot of courage. Being honest doesn't mean things will turn out the way you hoped. People might believe you are lying, and they might not trust you, but sooner or later, the whole story will unravel itself, and people will know the truth. So if you are honest, you will get what you deserve, maybe not immediately, but it's a matter of time until you get it and when you do, your heart will know it.

If I were a character in a Book I would be ... by Arav Agarwal

Books and characters take us to places where we have to stay where we are, and there are times when we are fascinated by the characters and their qualities that we aspire to be like them. If I were a character in a book, I would be Tom from the series Tom Gates by Liz Pichon.

The character Tom inspires me because he does not have any superpowers, and Tom is like one of us. Still, he is active, intelligent, solution-oriented and loves trying new activities. In one of his books called ‘Super Good Skills’, things did not go the way he wanted, but he made it fun for himself and his family with his qualities. Tom transports me to his school, classroom, home, on his school trips and at his friend’s house, where he teaches so many life values like friendship, being courageous, communication ways and keeping a positive attitude. The most important thing is that he does everything in a fun and enjoyable way. With him, I get motivated to be a better person, give my best in whatever I do and make this world a better place. I love to be in the brilliant world of Tom Gates.

Values - Rishona Chopra

Values - sounds familiar, right? We often hear people talking about them.

They are some qualities that help us be a better person. Having one such value means having several values. Here are some of the examples of a few values in one value.

Calm
Open-hearted
Obedient
Philanthropic
Eager
Respectful
Affectionate
Talented
Ideal
Open-minded
Noble

Peaceful

Awesome

Truthful

Imaginative

Earnest

Neighbourly

Careful

Eco - friendly

Having all these values together is difficult, but here is a fact - we all are born with all these qualities! It’s just when we come into the real world and deal with all types of people with different views. Implementing these values becomes difficult. Although it is difficult, we must never give up implementing these values.

Value is just a 5 letter word, but it can change your entire life.

Happiness and Me - Susan Marandi

"All these kids are icebergs; we only see the tip." -a character in the show Castle.

We all are like icebergs; people only see some qualities and a part of us. But how many of us know our real us, our real side? Very few or none of us know 100% of ourselves, but there is nothing wrong with that. If you don't know what you are passionate about, it's ok. If you don't know what your talent is, it's ok. You at least have to give it a try to show the real you to the world and, most importantly, to yourself. Because that is what gives happiness to you. And that's what really matters.😃

Something I wonder about. . . . .
What if life is a dream and death is the end of that dream. When you wake up, you realize it was all a dream, and you have another chance to live and correct the mistakes you made in your dream. And have another chance to fulfil every dream of yours. It might be wonderful, right? But this won't happen in real life, so fulfil and achieve every dream of yours in this life and live every moment as if it's never gonna come back.
